[ Otabek wants to post the video relatively early. There’s a calm when the video comes on. Otabek’s hair is is still fuzzy from having just woken up, having not been styled yet. There’s a sense of ease about him, too. While he’s normally pretty calm, it’s just different from what one normally sees from him. Also, it appears his laptop is set up in a different spot than normal. It’s on a kitchen table, and behind him is a counter, on it - a container with remnants of cake.

He’s wearing a tank top, but it’s not hiding the markings on his neck and shoulders. He finally speaks, but not without a small meow in the background from the little black cat who seems fond of making appearances. ]

Thank you for coming to the party last night. I was glad to see everyone. Also, as of yesterday --

[ A pause. ]

I’m nineteen. I don’t really celebrate birthdays. It was a good birthday, though. I’m curious...

[ Leans forward, is quiet. ]

What birthday traditions do you have?

[ He sits back. Clearly, his tone is about to change. Otabek never leaves it at one thing. ]

Also... As you may or may not know, I am in charge of entertainment at a few clubs here. So - this is also a job posting. Singers, DJs, musicians, and otherwise musical acts are all welcome to apply, either for one night or something more long term. It is a paid job, of course. You can either reply here, come visit me at the club, or send me a message privately.

[ He’s said a lot more than he typically does in any given moment. Then, something seems to grab his attention, and he turns back towards the bedroom, then back to the camera. He turns it off. ]

[Keith left off any comment about those marks. He had an interesting after party, too, not that long ago.]

This was the first time in a while that I did anything for my birthday. It wasn't even really my idea.

But, when I was little, we have cake... and I got some presents. [He shrugged.]

It just never really seemed all that important once... [...he was alone...] ...once I got older.

[ He empathizes, at least with how Keith explained it. ]

Same, really. I didn't plan on it.

[ But it happened because of a certain person, and it ended up being pretty good. He always traveled too much to be with his family, so it was never really something he did. ]

Sometimes - friends - would do something here and there back at home.

[ But what are friends for. ]

Cakes and gifts seem like the status quo.

Yeah. It was usually someone else that did it for me.

[Keith sighed a little.]

But, I think you're right. There seems to be a standard as far as the cake and gifts thing.

I understand it's to show appreciation for you. SO I guess it is nice.

[ He appreciated it. ]

That does seem to make it sound more important, right?

It does. I I think it's more for them...than us, honestly.

Probably. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

[He might hear what sounds like a shrug.]

Shiro felt it was important to do something for me on my birthday. We were here, but it was something. It was nice.

But, I don't know. I mean, I wouldn't have minded either way, to be honest.

I don't feel like I needed it, really. But cake and quiet worked.

I don't do parties outside of my work. So it worked out.

What kind of work do you do?

Here - I DJ and I head entertainment at a couple of clubs.

Oh... yeah. That makes sense, then.

Do you enjoy it?

I really do. DJing is surprisingly relaxing if you enjoy music.

Even with all the people and noise?

Despite that, yes.

Well, that's good at least.

What do you do back home?

I'm a figure skater.

I DJ from time to time, too.

Oh. I didn't know that could be a career... figure skating, that is.

Yeah. My boyfriend and I both figure skate professionally where we're from.

It's not really much of a career here though, at least competitively.

[Boyfriend, huh? That had to be hard... Well, if his boyfriend wasn't here. Which brought the question out before Keith could really think about it.]

Is your boyfriend here?

[It was kind of sad if they were separated by the portal.]

Oh. Yeah, he's here.

[ He doesn't like to think about living without Yuri here. ]

That's good then, at least. Better than being apart, I would expect.

[He imagined it would be pretty lonely to be separated from someone like that. Though, that was a risk he was taking by dating Lola here, he supposed. What if one of them ended up disappearing? That could be hard. But, it supposed it was something worth doing.]

I'm glad you had a good birthday, though... and I hope you find the help you need with your business.

I'm very lucky.

[ He appreciates the sentiment. ]

I'm sure I will. There's many with hidden talents, I'm sure.

[Keith almost nodded, but then remembered this was just audio.]
