@R.Greenhilt: Video

Good afternoon. My name is Roy Greenhilt.

[Someone isn't in a festival mood; Roy wears his armor and carries his sword as a rule, and today is no exception. In fact, he has carefully chosen a spot by the wall to remind the viewer of the hostile world outside this contains area, and by extension, the moral and ethical responsibility they each have to aid others on this world who might have to deal with it.]

[Presentation, Roy has learned, counts for a lot.]

I'm looking for accompaniment on a mission outside of these walls. According to city officials, who have detected this via some sort of sensing array, there's a group of intelligent beings out there whose numbers are decreasing, and I believe this needs to be investigated and these people helped, possibly by bringing them back here.

To that extent, I am looking for people who are capable of driving the automated vehicles here, as well as those capable of protecting them. Healers or those with ranks in Heal would also be appreciated. If I'm able to assemble a small group we'll be departing as soon as possible, so please be aware this may curtail your festival experience.

[That ought to cut down on people who wound rather be partying than helping others, at least.]

Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you are willing to come along on this expedition. Thank you for your time.

Then I hit all three of your requirements, four if you count not caring about missing the party. Though it might be a good idea to have someone with more medical experience who can also either drive or defend themselves. How many people do you think we'll need for this?

Oh, and that guy further down who thinks he can 'probably do something useful' is pretty good in a fight. He's an idiot, but he's good in a fight.

[It's probably a good thing they're not going down the path of 'rules of reality' as they apply to Roy, because Natasha is never going to be able to shout the words heal check in the heat of a battle and take it even remotely seriously. Just not happening. Though at least she's getting used to people in armour who come from medieval fantasy style worlds. That's something, right?]

Is that in one vehicle? Driver, backup driver, two gunners. That would be ideal. Even better if those roles can shift as needed. It might be worth having a fifth as a healer/medic if they are self sufficient enough to not be a liability. Anyone who can't double down on roles will probably necessitate an additional fighter as protection, and then we'll be split between at least two vehicles. More difficult to defend, and potentially more difficult to stay together.

[Not that you asked her. Don't mind Natasha, this is just similar enough to running ops back home to be almost comfortingly familiar.]

I have been, yes. Job requirement.

You don't think we'd be able to get everyone back in one transport truck? If we strip it down internally, keep the armor, it would still be light enough to travel fairly quickly. The treads would be a great help over the terrain.

If their numbers are decreasing, then we must assume that they will be an even smaller group by the time we can get to them. We must also assume that there is a hostile and dangerous force behind the shrinking number. In that case, one truck would be easier to defend. If we're taking smaller vehicles, they'll travel faster, but again they'll stretch our resources. We'll need far more people to defend and operate the pair of them.

I suppose in the end, it depends on how many you can recruit. If each vehicle were completely autonomous and didn't need to count on the other for protection and support, it wouldn't matter if we got separated.

[Mission prep, mission prep, mission prep! All other parts of her brain have shut down, and it's such a welcome relief.]

Two it is, then.

[She doesn't have to understand why a system is in place, or even what the system is for. If it's the only way they get the trucks, then that's what they do. It doesn't seem particularly dangerous to do it that way. A little redundant, but there are worse hitches for a mission to have.]

I'd appreciate a rundown of all the information you've been given on the situation when you get the chance. Once you know when we're heading out, please let me know. I like to be prepared.
