Video; thunderer [Thor 3 Spoilers]

[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

Perhaps not the most auspicious of starts, but a better one than most.

[ Better than Loki's anyway. He's still avoiding the question though, keeping his tone airy light. ]

Who knows? I am in the process of rediscovery right now. What I want may change. It could be anything.

[worldsaway]

I don't want you to give up your happiness for me.

[But gods, he can't help wishing he would.

It's hard to notice the way Thor's throat catches, but it feels like he can't breathe until he has a response.]

[dothelokimotion]

Thor.

[ And he turns to face his brother, a bittersweet smile. ]

When have I ever done that?

[wiccant]

( wow, rude. )

I could say the same for gods.

[wiccant]

( his heart may have just skipped a beat but it's fine, he's fine, he'll ignore it. )

Volstagg shows up in newspapers often enough. I think he really enjoys jumping off those floating islands and attacking robbers and thugs.

[worldsaway]

[Every smile with Thor is tentative right now, because the mere mention of Volstagg is enough to make him worry.

But he presses on.]

I know you know me, but I don't think I know you. [He is trying to search his memory.] What's your name?

[worldsaway]

[Thor breathes, but this isn't the relief he's hoping for.]

Why start now?

[dothelokimotion]

It seems as good a time as any.

And I never got my hug. It seems I'm destined to be indentured to men who promise things but never follow up on them.

[dothelokimotion]

[ The rudest. ]

The cake wasn't that bad, my dude.

[Thor rolls his eyes, but he smiles again. He wants to question what Loki says, but he's more focused on crossing toward his brother so he can loop his arms around him tightly. One hand stays crossed around his back, the other holds the back of Loki's head and Thor's face leans in to press into the nook of his shoulder and neck.

He breathes in deeply, squeezing his eyes shut so he can find the strength to stop himself from crumbling and making a fool of himself. The help and condolences his friends offer do well to ease his worries, but nothing is more comforting to him than the fact that Loki is very real, very solid and he's here.]

[worldsaway]

When it's followed by the best cake in the nine realms and beyond, it doesn't hold up.

And I burnt it.

[wiccant]

( he sees where the "there's a sane loki here" comment came from, with the other loki. )

I won't wait up for it.

[dothelokimotion]

It is a grave assumption if you think I would.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Honestly, Loki hadn't expected him to take it. After all, Loki has done little to earn it. He has done little for anything that he currently has right now. His lover, his friends. The strange motley group of people that seemed intent on looking out for him. People who look over his memories and pain and see something more.

But there is only one that turns the tide. I did it for you, Loki lets the thought drift by without saying it allowed even as he wraps his arms around Thor's back, his fingers curling themselves around the fabric. ]

I've got you.

[wiccant]

I'm--more of a fan than anything else, so don't worry about it. ( thor clearly has more important things to worry about. )

Billy Kaplan. Or Wiccan, depending on which crowd you're asking.

I have absolutely zero expectations of one day receiving a call from you about my opinions mattering.

Aside from that, are you okay?

[spellslots]

[He looks genuinely pleased with that compliment.]

Half the crew can't cook for shit, I've had a lot worse.

[worldsaway]

[Thor breathes heavy against Loki's neck for a long moment before he wonders why he holds it back at all. His breathing is still heavy, panicked and desperate. Tears sting at his eyes and eventually roll down his cheeks.

It's not Loki's reassurance alone that frees Thor's emotions from his stronghold, it's the fact that he believes him. That alone is a feeling Thor values.

The wave of emotion doesn't last long, but Thor holds on until he's sure there are no more tears. He lets them dry against his face, content to stay where he is for the moment.]

[worldsaway]

I'm not worried, I'm used to it. [He pauses.] People from other worlds, knowing me, I mean. I suppose I'm used to fans, too.

[He chuckles.] What's the alias for?

[worldsaway]

I know where my talents lie, and it's not there. But thank you.

[wiccant]

( considering he’s the god of thunder, well-known even in worlds without superheroes—yeah. there’s a moment where he opens his mouth, considers going on a long spiel about the hundreds of norse books he’s picked up since before the avengers really became a thing, before thor showed up with his hammer on earth. but doesn’t. this really isn’t the time for that. )

Oh, uh—on my Earth, there’s a team called the Young Avengers. ( without going into too much detail, explaining the kang the conqueror thing would take forever, as well as the avengers dissembling, the mess that came with that, everything in between—it doesn’t matter too much here anyway. ) I was recruited a couple years ago when it was formed. Secret identities were kind of important back then.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Another person asking Loki that and not Thor. Baffling. ]

I am fine, of course. Why would I not be?

[dothelokimotion]

[ The moisture on his clothes were telling. This is the second time around, for Loki. He remembers how they spilled on his face as he lay dying. He wonders how he has managed to stay relatively dry-eyed but there is little for Loki to cry about anymore. He has already laid most of his demons to rest.

( loki believes and belief makes things true ) ]

( because thor isn’t naturally inclined towards sarcasm and hiding things. also: billy is a lot more used to dealing with a loki than he is to thor. even if it’s not this loki. )

Asgard, Odin, and Hela. ( a home destroyed, a father dead, a sister(??). ) I don’t think anyone would expect you to be okay after that.
