[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

Preferences for your own family aside, this really is a case of the more the merrier.

[Thor is the best and Riverview has not stopped giving him that impression.]

[ Loki isn't sold on it, but a different Earth is a more viable option than their own. ]

I doubt the other . . . Thor would be pleased to see me.

When your whole family is dead, you'd be happy to see anyone even an alternate universe version of your backstabbing brother.

[ There's a flicker of something in Loki's eyes before it vanishes. He's playing a good game right now and holding up better than Thor under anyone's scrutiny. ]

What happened to Asgard?

[inebriety]

Yggdrasil was cut down. The realm fell shortly after that and I could only save him.

[There's a tight smile on his face. He meant what he said earlier, he's seen what happens when Thor's the last man standing.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Someone cut down the World Tree? Loki quickly schools his reaction at that. ]

All the Realms should have fallen from such an act.

[inebriety]

[So things can still surprise Loki even after all they've been through.]

I guess it was less integral than everyone thought. Turns out it's just the source of all your powers.

[dothelokimotion]

[ His nose wrinkles. ]

An interesting theory.

I rebuilt a god, we've moved past a theory.

In your world, Stark. The rules differ for us.

[ Loki highly doubts the Stark he knows can accomplish anything close to a rudimentary understanding of magic. ]

[To be fair neither does he. All of Thor's abilities were recreated with technology.]

Possibly. My definition of an Asgardian might mean something very different to you.

[He stretches languidly before hooking his hands behind his head.]

Too bad I'm not curious enough to actually find out.

[ He forgets how different this Stark is from the others. At times, there are glimmers. Other times, however. He can put his finger on it from time to time, but this one, Loki finds harder to read. And he's never liked that in any individual. ]

Neither are we.

At any rate, your suggestion has merit. Though I believe Thor would prefer his Earth to any other.

I'm his favourite Stark, I'm sure I can convince him.

[He's very happy to be able to say that he's someone's favourite.]

[ Dryly. ]

Considering the Starks, I'm not sure that is a high bar.

[inebriety]

That's not a very nice thing to say considering I could say the same for you.

[Loki's not wrong though. The bar is so low it's touching the ground.]

I've never been nice. And considering the Lokis before me, I believe I am still a step up.

[He bursts out laughing at that.]

You're the prickly, unwashed Loki and you think you're a step up?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki is undeterred. ]

Yes, actually. Considering your Loki and the others, am I far off?

[Squints at suspiciously.]

I didn't get the chance to see much of the Loki of my world, but he died by Thor's side. Would you run when faced with unbeatable odds or stay as he did?

Why don't you ask Thor?

[inebriety]

Can't have been very unbeatable if you're still alive.

[But it's interesting to note what Loki is implying here. Loki hating his brother enough to kill him, but loving him enough to bring him back might be the common thread throughout the multiverse.]

I am notably hard to kill.

[ Though it wavers between being a point of pride and being one of contention. ]

Though our sister did try her best.

[inebriety]

[He has absolutely no context for that.]

Thor slept with Hela on my world. I'm going to have to ask him if they're related in light of this news from you two.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki visibly cringes at that. ]

I hear it is not the case in the other universes.

[inebriety]

It wouldn't be the first time someone on the team slept with a sibling.
