[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

"Hey, so, is Hela really your daughter, or was that one of those things that everyone got wrong?"

I am fine, of course. Why would I not be?

( because thor isn’t naturally inclined towards sarcasm and hiding things. also: billy is a lot more used to dealing with a loki than he is to thor. even if it’s not this loki. )

Asgard, Odin, and Hela. ( a home destroyed, a father dead, a sister(??). ) I don’t think anyone would expect you to be okay after that.

Guess that would depend on what kind of Loki you are, wouldn't it?

( remorse was honestly not on his list of expected emotions from loki—but considering the conversations he’s had with the one from his own universe, it’s. not as surprising as it could have been. still, this one’s being awfully easy to read. billy just hasn’t decided yet if it’s because he’s trying to seem easy, or if it’s unintentional. )

Even gods have bad days. ( especially lokis tbh. ) I wouldn't judge you for not being okay.

[ Loki is currently still grappling with a new set of circumstances. Something that finally sets him apart from the narrative others (and himself) have built for himself. But Loki hasn't taken the time to dwell on it, not when Thor himself was hanging by a thread. ]

As I stated earlier, I'm quite fine.

( the last time asgard was--demolished, billy clearly remembers seeing a loki get blown to bits, so. granted, that was an entirely different loki and an entirely different set of circumstances. but even that one tried to protect asgard. . in his own way. )
