[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

For a city that so direly needs help rebuilding itself, one must hope they'll allow your people in.

Thor will suffice. [But she earns a genuine smile from a very broody Thor, so that's a win.]

They take care of us well, here, but I wonder if their resources could stretch to support five thousand refugees.

Thor. I suppose we'll never know unless they try. The portal is our best chance. though as your uh, companion, pointed out, it would require further research.

[ and a great measure of hope, no matter loki is saying. ]

I'm not a man of science, I don't think I research is my strength, but there's nothing I won't do.

I suppose I could request an audience. Try to gather some people with a better understanding of portals.

[mannerism]

There are others, here, who know more about science than you and I.

[ she is a creature of her times. much of what is being called 'science' today is foreign to her, far too advanced, entirely too modern. ]

I fear the only man I've known who studied the portal is no longer here. I only looked upon the thing once, myself.

I know of a few myself. Most of them are named Stark. [Thor chuckles.]

I could pass around a sign up sheet, but then the biggest obstacle would be having them all work together.

[ Mr. Thunderer indeed. ]

The people barely know how the portals work. Their scientific and magical knowledge fluctuates as well. We will need more than hope.

[ At least it's a better response than "I'm sorry for your loss" ]

We will need more intel.

[ though hope couldn't hurt. ]

what of you? can you try and solve the riddle of the Portal?

I've used portals before. And I am proficient in traveling between worlds through my own means.

[ Not much of a boast, though it is certainly one of Loki's greater powers. All other Asgardians require the Bifrost. Loki is the exception. ]

But this one operates erratically. I cannot tap into it or control it.

[mannerism]

Yet. You cannot control it, yet. I should like to think that since it hasn't yet collapsed, the thing works according to its own logic.

[ they just need to crack the code. ]

I admit, I know much less of it than you, this is my first dance, so to speak.

Most likely. But as portals are also dangerous, I cannot simply crack it open and dissect it for its secrets.

[ Loki would have done that, a couple of months ago. It was on the agenda. But there was only one portal. One way out and in. Even he was not foolish enough to risk it without full knowledge. ]

[mannerism]

Is there any way to study it without risking it falling apart?

[ he would know more than her of the subject, she's still learning about cell phones. ]

is there is one, could there not be others, potentially?

In theory.

[ The Tessaract, however, is no longer with him, so that theory falls apart quickly. ]

A larger realm would have openings. Cracks. This one is diminutive or very young in age. I could only find this one portal as a gateway.
