[You can tell from the moment Thor's face appears on camera, he's been through hell and back. His hair is almost entirely buzzed down, save for the tufts on top, with markings shaved into the sides. His eye is covered by a black patch, indicating an injury that he isn't happy to talk about.]

I've made some changes. [Bluntly, as if he consented to any of this.]

What else.. Some things have happened at home that may be of interest to some of you. [He hums, considering.] Odin is dead. I have another sister? Her name is Hela. Mjolnir is destroyed. Banner is alive. [He feels a little guilty revealing that one, but he thinks someone deserves to know.] I fought the Hulk. I won. I met a real, live Valkyrie- And Asgard is.. [A people, not a place, but..] The realm has been destroyed. My people are seeking refuge, I suppose I understand now what displacement feels like.

I have the remains of Asgard in a ship, floating through space. If a portal could open for them, that would be extremely useful to me right now. I'm a king with no land or people, now. Very poetic. [Does he seem terse? He's kind of tense.


And then Loki comes barging in, looking very much the same and carrying a large parchment. He glances at the recording with a frown. He places the map of Earth on the wall, pinning it with a single dagger.]

Must you reveal everything? Put that away, I have work for you.

You tend to assume an awful lot. I wonder how often you tend to be wrong?

[ Dryly. ]

Wonder all you like, Ragnarsson. You are still beneath the Gods. No amount of wonder or words will give you an edge over me or even the lowest Asgardian.

And yet my words seem to have a cutting edge whether you like them to or not.

[He smiles in that way that most teenagers have when they know they're hitting a nerve with the adults around them.]

And yet, no way to make me bleed. No wonder your woman ran away. You are hardly man enough to protect her.

[ragnarsson]

[Ivar's eyes turn into a pair of ice chips at Loki's words. He'd hit the teenage Viking right where it still hurts. Rather than explode into anger, as he's warranted to, Ivar's tone goes soft. It's the other type of anger he has, the kind that will simmer for a long time as he waits to use it. Ragnar had always said it made him more dangerous than the first kind.]

Say something like that again and I'll have to really see what it will take to make a god bleed.

[ Loki laughs. ]

No, you'll just tell Thor and hide behind his cloak. You know what makes me the silvertongue above all? It is because in the end, people will always prove my words true. There is very little lying needed.

You cannot cut me. You've naught the skill.

He doesn't need to tell me, I can see you arguing with a teenager from here.

[ Loki cuts the feed because he's not going to be able to juggle his attention between Ivar and Thor and Ivar was already forgotten. ]

Well, you had best fight his battles for him, brother.

Better that than listen to you both natter away at each other like spiteful old women.

[dothelokimotion]

[ If there is one thing Loki hates, it is Thor's commitment to other people. He's never liked it then and he still doesn't like it. ]

Is that all? I thought you'd be pleased. Normally, they'd be dead.

[worldsaway]

Do you want a parade every time you don't kill someone you squabble with?

[dothelokimotion]

[ He eyes Thor at that, but his bad mood melts away slightly. ]

Why not? It is within your purview now.

[worldsaway]

I don't have the resources for that, even here. First, you stop physically stabbing, then you stop emotionally stabbing and then we can talk about throwing you a party.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki openly scowls at him, crossing his arms with a huff. ]

[worldsaway]

Yes, very mature of you, brother. Fold your arms and you'll get your way, that's right.

[dothelokimotion]

I can get my way without you, Thor.

[worldsaway]

I've lost track- is your way a parade or murder?

[dothelokimotion]

[ He holds his arms out. ]

Can't they be both?

[ragnarsson]

[He knows he's playing right into Loki's hands now. He knows this but he can't help but to retort.]

And you're just like every other arrogant fool whose underestimated me just because they think they know everything. I didn't get this far in life by letting myself get trampled underfoot.

[dothelokimotion]

[ His attention is taken up by Thor, so his reply is dismissive. ]

Yes, yes. You're very famous to other mortals, congratulations.

[ With that, he's done. Because Loki is an asshole. ]
