[ sitting in his room in marco's mansion with a record player belting out blitzkrieg bop. not so loud that he can't be heard, but it's clearly cranked up a little. nico, meanwhile, is sharpening his sword and looking a little put out. after having his memories shared with multiple people, he's not feeling too sociable. but he can hear jason grace in his head telling him he needs to get out of the house and talk to people. ]

Eight months. I've been here eight months and there's still no way to get back to camp. Back... home.

[ the fact he calls camp home now truly reveals just how much he misses his friends and family. ]

This place isn't too bad, but being the only demigod around here kind of sucks. I don't know how many people around here get homesick, but I would certainly accept even some of the gods, Greek gods showing up. No offense to you Norse types.

[ he picks up his sword and sets his thumb against the edge, cheering up a little as it nicks the skin, causing blood to well to the surface. sucking on his thumb, he sets the sword aside. ]

Whatever. Anyone want to go outside quarantine and kill some stuff?

You call me Niks and Loki calls me Neeks. Between the two of you, I'll never hear my real name said. [ a slight huff as he watches jason pull out the dagger. it's pretty lethal looking but nico likes to think is stygian iron sword, which sits on his hip, is far more deadly. ]

Work clothes from home. One day you'll tell me more.

[ for now, nico doesn't push the subject, instead choosing to unsheathe his sword and give a nod. ]

He all but accosted me at a record shop, insisting I buy one of their albums. I don't think he's being ironic.

[ still rubbing his head a little. ]

I don't know, to be honest. I have friends here I really care about, but I have a duty back home, to my other friends and my father.

[ His chuckle matches the way he raps his fingers over Nico's splayed thighs. ]

[ pauses, trying to remember the lyrics. then, in a warbly, awkward tone: ]

[ Jason's blade wasn't anything special until he uses his blood to activate it. With monsters out there, the all-blade seemed a wise accessory. ]

Most of the time I have to look away when a god shows his or her godly form, so it's okay that you don't want to show it. My father's would burn away my eyes if he showed it too me.

[ gently raps his knuckles against loki's brow. ]

And I've been through Tartarus. There's very little that scares me.

Jason was trying to introduce me to better stuff too. I didn't even get a chance to listen to that My Chemical Romance band that looked interesting.

Yeah, yeah, you're the toughest guy around. But it's ... like a shadow, only one you couldn't control, which I would have thought might freak you out.

[ Pinches a knee for that rap on his brow. ]

I have a couple of their songs on my phone, if you want to listen. Just a couple though. Promise Loki won't jump up and start singing other stuff when you're playing them.

I wouldn't mind that. It'd be pretty nice, actually. Since Jason suggested the group, I've been wanting to listen to them. The cover looked pretty cool, at least.

Not really. Darkness and shadows don't scare me. But still, I'm not asking you to show it to me. It's okay if you don't.

[ and then he eeps as he's pinched, pouting a little. ]

[ shrugging off the "maybe later", nico pushes his way through the underbrush to leave the gate of the quarantine. once he and jason are both outside, nico pauses, closing his eyes. ]

I don't sense any mortals or gods nearby, so that's good. I can't sense monsters though, so we'll have to be wary.

( nico's not. the first person he's heard that name from. )

A vigilante, from Gotham City. He's a friend of mine. I think he's friends with Loki too. And Edward Elric. A bunch of people, really.

[wiccant]

A vigilante from Gotham. Who is into My Chemical Romance. Okay.

( sounds mildly familiar but not familiar enough for him to say anything about it. )

You said you work at Trixie, right? I can charge my battery up and head down there.

[ He pushed the button to close the mask, toggling something else near his ear as the weird eye spots started a low glow. Kicking on Nightvision as he followed Nico along. He figured without asking that Nico didn't like Baseball so baseball signals were a no go. It would be a vocal mission. Which worked well enough for him.]

No heat signatures yet, and nothing in night vision. [ Jason responded. ] Though, who knows if all monsters put off a heat signature.

[ His voice sounded more electronic, a doubled tone his accent all but gone sounding like a machine, because the helmet's distortion.]
