You know, I think I'm handling all of this rather well. Taken to a different world, okay. Might be in a coma or something back home but okay. Magic users and superheros, definitely okay. Still might be in a coma, but it's nice to know about.

My problem with being here is time. Back home, it was the end of September, not even proper Thanksgiving [Sorry, someone is from Canada where Thanksgiving is in October] or Halloween. And now suddenly it's Christmas. I've been here a month but I still keep feeling like I've lost all of this time. Losing this time makes me wonder: what do they know back home? Have they noticed I'm gone?

[That's a huge worry for her, she doesn't want people to think that she's just run away and abandoned them when the world may be ending. Or whatever.]

I'd like to think that when I go home, it'll be at the same moment but then I wonder: will I have all this extra time then? Memories of this place? I've been around more weird stuff in the last two years than I care to admit, but I think this might be the weirdest thing ever.

So, that's what keeping me up tonight. [Among other insomnia like things because she's Alex.] What's keeping you up?

And honestly, a coma just seems like the sort of thing my brain might do. Sort of.

[Alex your brain would have way more demons in it.]

Well, this isn't a coma dream if that's what you're thinking. At least, as far as I can tell.

Five? Is that like an ability or something that you have, like visiting worlds or whatever?

And I know it's probably not. I definitely am responding to stimuli.

More like I make a really good target, apparently. None of them were exactly intentional.

Two of them I got pulled into by higher powers, gods if you want to call them that. The story is we wind up here because we feel displaced, and the last one's pretty complicated.

[So that's four. The fifth one being his home world, where he was born.]

The two I was pulled into before coming here people went home all the time and didn't remember ever being there in the first place.

[A really quick beat and a smaller voice:]

One of them wasn't Tiamat, was it?

[She's got a bit of a history with Tiamat.]

But you remember them all here?

That's what they called themselves, at least.

[He might be a skeptic until the end, but he went with it while he was there.]

I do, and none of them were Tiamat that I know of.

Well, it's like Ghostbusters, if someone asks if you're a god, you tell them yes, I guess?

[There's a bit of humor in her voice at that. And she's relieved about there not being a Tiamat. She's got good reasons for it.]

So did they have a specific mythology they subscribed too?

Pretty sure they offered that information unasked, and if anyone asked if I was a god I'm not going to lie to them.

[Which doesn't mean that no one else would, just not that everyone else would.]

I'm guessing Ghostbusters is a reference to something in your world, not a concept I'm familiar with, sorry. The gods we dealt with all had different origins... I was informed the original gods of the first place I was taken were Greek, but it didn't mean much to me at the time, Greece doesn't exactly exist where I'm from. They might not have even been the original gods, just the ones in power when I got there.

Who's Tiamat, anyway?

It's an old movie where I'm from, and a villain asks the group if they're a god, and they say no so they have to fight it. It's sort of a long story.

But Tiamat is an ancient sumerian goddess, of the primal sea. When her husband is murdered by her children, she gets angry and turns into a chaos goddess bringing forth creatures of demon and shadows to get revenge. But her eldest child killed her and then used her body to form the earth and the heavens. All of her darkness, however is just waiting to be returned to earth. That's what her cult is trying to do.

[Messy, but at least it was a movie and not ... reality on her world.]

Never heard of her, story doesn't sound familiar either.

[Not like how Icarus did when Nico talked about him in that vague 'we have a similar lore' sense even.]

So is anyone trying to stop this cult back on your world or... Is that another movie?

Not a movie, I'm afraid. It would make my life ten times easier if it was like one though, because we'd be at the point in it where things start to come together, and we're definitely not there back home.
