Son today, actually. [ if he's anywhere close to as ignorant and offensive as the thor from alex's reality, he's going to have to spell it out for him. ] What does being the fun uncle entail, exactly?

I guess it would entail mischief, but that's more Loki's scene. I do wholly support drinking and making poorly thought out choices, though.

[ alex has managed all this time without a mother (honestly, without proper parents at all), and if it freaks loki out, he's fine with keeping their contact minimal. ]

And you obviously don't have to be my uncle or anything like that. We're not even related back home. [ so there's no pressure to be ~family~. honestly, alex isn't really even sure what to do with a family at this point. his family had become his hallmates in valhalla, and that's.. different. ]

I don't think Loki is really the sort to be a beholden to a sense of obligation, but it's not for me to say. [But on occasion, he does what he thinks is right and Thor likes that about him.]

Hardly seems fair, considering I now have several extended family members from all corners of the universe that I have accepted into my.. ah.. nest. [Is that the best word?]

It isn't about being fair? It's about, you know, making sure you and sorta'-Mom are comfortable with whatever we decide to do. If that means keeping our contact professional, that's fine.

The implication was that I have been comfortable so far and I see no reason to be uncomfortable going forward.

I'm the only uncle so far, so it's not like I have competition.

[Thor doesn't hesitate.] Yes. Barring the occasional bout of sibling rivalry. I take it we aren't in your world?

It wouldn't be the first time I've heard I'm different in another world. Definitely not the first time I've heard I'm a jackass.

I think there's something about the whole tank class that lends itself to the 'stupid' stereotype, and the multiverse buys into it. [ he sprawls out on his side, tail swishing lazily. ] Thankfully, I'm around to bust all those stereotypes up into fucking dust.

[ a mild blink. ] Let's just say that so far you're worlds better than he is already.

Very true, and to be honest it's not an undeserved one either. But from what I've heard, I don't really want to end up like most other Thors,
so it serves as a lesson for me.
