I want to fully understand where he's coming from. I didn't really have a lot of time with him.

And . . . I want to make sure he's okay.

And then what? Let him continue whatever he's doing?

No, but at least we could work on it?

Do you think he cares about you as much as you care about him?

I'm pretty sure he does.

[ That sort of response concerns him. He can't know whether that's the truth or what this person chooses to believe. ]

That's something. You should still be cautious.

Sometimes people will act like they care and say that's why they're doing something, when it really only hurts you.

I don't think he wants to hurt me in any way. He's been clear on that.

So what is it that makes you think he's evil?

He's been kind of manipulative. Trying to make us see only one side of the story.

[antietam]

That's not all bad by itself. It depends on what he wants to gain from that.

Manipulation is just a means to an end, and that end might be good.

[supersweet]

He wants a world where people with super powers can live without fear.

[ Or so he told Jon. It held some appeal for him. A place where Jon didn't have to hide and lie. ]

Is that a good thing?

I think so. I don't know what it's like for you, but nothing magical is safe where I'm from. People always want to use it for their own interests.

But I don't know how you can change that.

Neither do I. It's super hard to picture. There are tons of heroes, but not all of them have powers either.
