Video, UN: @Jagged Fan

[ Today it is a slightly frazzled Marinette that greets the network - which is actually surprisingly rare since she doesn't often address the public on the network. Today is different though! She's seated on a couch with a pile of clothing neatly folded next to her or draped over the back. She also appears to be piecing something together in her lap as she speaks, a bright smile on her face. ]

Uh - hey, everyone! It's me, Marinette -hi..! Ah... I know that we recently got some new arrivals in town ..so.. hi... again ...

[ She makes a face at her own awkwardness. ]

And um, welcome! But that's not why I'm making this announcement - kind of thing. I'm actually doing some spring cleaning..in..not Spring.. and giving away some outfits that I made earlier last year that weren't sold and they're really kind of just taking up room at this point. So if anyone - not just new people mind you! - needs some spare clothing or anything I have a couple of different kinds of outfits -

Oh! No need to worry, they're at no charge! You'd actually be doing me a favor since I'm kind of running out of room here.. just let me know if you're interested, or you can swing by where I'm staying for now - I'm on Floor Ten in the Community Housing building!

[Using this as like Skype instead of like a phone is weird.]

What kind of outfits you got?

[ It is weird, but she's gotten used to it. ]

Mostly casual outfits - I have.. a few shorts and shirts, two pair of pants, three skirts, and a denim jacket.

I could use some pants and a jacket. I think I'll be getting warmer but I'm used to Florida weather.

[It isn't this cold.]

That's in .. America right? I've never been, but I hear it's supposed to be really warm there. I can set aside the pants and the jacket for you, and you can swing by and grab it whenever you like. Or I can bring it to you - I might have to adjust the fitting if they're too baggy or tight for you anyway.

Yeah. It's warm and humid.

Oh! Wait, You don't have to take the stairs! The elevator should be working - at least, it was this morning when I used it.

Sweet. I'll be there in a bit.

[Willa turns off the phone, hops on the elevator and reaches the tenth floor very quickly. Once she's there, she isn't sure where to go but she has nothing against taking a look around.]

Okay! See you in a bit then! [ Likewise she ends the connection there, puttering about in the living room before making her way out to the hall and watching for the elevator. When sh e sees Willa looking around, she lifted a hand to get her attention. ]

Hi!

Hey.

[She flashes a lopsided smile as she steps forward.]

I can grab the stuff and go. Even if it doesn't fit perfect I'm sure it'll be fine. [She needs clothes and she doesn't really want to get in this girls way.]

[ Marinette nodded, gesturing over to a few sets of clothes in different sizes. ]

Sure thing! I already put aside some other sets of clothing for other people coming by but, help yourself with whatever's here on the couch.

[She picks through and takes a few things though Willa doesn't really wander to far outside of her layered miss-matched style.]

Hello, Marinette.

( Dany's violet eyes are alight with interest and curiosity. )

Have you a great deal of experience in fabricating garments? I'm of a mind to do the same, and I've begun a little.

I'm better at designing them, I suppose.

[ Marinette grins at the new face, nodding. ]

Really? I design too, actually. And yeah, I've had a bit of experience with it by now, and back home I design and make a lot of my own clothes. [ Among other things. ]

( Dany nods in turn. )

What manner of clothing? Mine is "old-fashioned," I believe it's called here. I like it, but I'm not as handy with a needle and thread as I'd like.

( A beat, and then she decides to ask: ) Could you teach me?

Well, for the most part I've been making 'modern' style clothes since that's..really the majority of the requests I get. But some people have asked about armor and clothing with defendsive properties too, so I'm doing some research into making things like that. Leather armor, I mean. [ She's worked with leather before, to make some accessories, and to make shoes, so ... she's caught off guard by the question. ]

Teach you? [ A grin quickly follows. ] Sure, I can do that, no problem!

Hi!

I'm the new guy from a couple of floors above, do you mind if I stop by in a few minutes? I don't need anything fancy but my stuff was pretty busted up when I got pulled in.

Sure! Just a simple mending job, right? No problem, I'll be here!

It's probably a lost cause. I'm just looking for a shirt and jeans that aren't hospital issue.

It's THAT bad? [ JEEZ what did he do to his clothes? ]

Aahah, well I definitely have that, no worries there! I'll set it aside for when you come by. [ So it wouldn't get mixed up for anyone else that stopped by. ]

[Tim knocks on the door, dressed in a plainly second-hand shirt and pants that are a little too loose. He had the formal wear from the Glow Ball, but he didn't really want to show up in those, either.]

Hey, uh, I'm here for the clothes?

[ And as she promised, she was currently perched on the couch, studying the seams of a denim jacket when Tim knocked. ]

S'open~! [ She's already waving him in, belatedly glancing over her shoulder and .. ]

Oh...Wow, gosh uh... You weren't kidding about needing clothing.

[ COUGH! She hopped to her feet and padded over to a chair where she had some articles of clothing folded. Having to share floorspace with a bunch of people means she can't spread out the way she wants. ]

Come on and have a look. [ She had a green long-sleeved shirt, a yellow t-shirt, and a blue long sleeved shirt, as well as three pairs of grey and black and grey slacks left! ]

I'm just glad they patched me up better than my clothes. [Tim smiles and follows her inside.]

Thanks for doing this, by the way. I don't usually have to think about what I have to wear.

[He crouches by the pile, holding up the green shirt. It was a little big, but workable. The yellow one was too small, and the blue one seemed to be roughly the right size, if a little long. He measured the sleeve against his arm.] You said these were extras?

[ Marinette shook her head, waving her hand. ]

Don't worry about it~! Like I said before, you're doing me a favor taking these clothes off my hands.

[ She folded her hands behind her back, rocking forward on her toes as she nodded. ]

Yeah, originally from commissions that didn't actually go through for ..whatever reason. [ People leaving, cancelling their requests, that sort of thing. ]

These are pretty good. You're studying to be a designer where you're from? Or is it like a hobby?

[Tim folds the blue one that looks like it'll fit best and sets it aside. It's not particularly neat, but he's pretty sure the material won't wrinkle.] I'll take this one, if it's okay. I'll make it up to you some time.

[ Marinette grinned, nodding. ]

Actually, yes! I'm planning on going into design school when I graduate high school, so while I'm here I've been designing clothing, dolls, accessories and things like that.

[ She shakes her head quickly, holding up her hands. ]

Oh you don't have to do that - taking the clothes is more than enough. I mean, I couldn't ask anything of you when you're doing me the favor.

Are you planning on continuing it here? You could open up a real shop, these are pretty good.

What's another favor between friends, right? [He smiles and shrugs.]

Sort of. I'd rather finish my education before anything else so I've been attending the school here - but I've been working part time, freelance to make clothing and things for people.

[ She grins. ]

I'm not going to be able to convince you otherwise, am I?

Probably not. [A quick grin.]

I should go get changed, but it was nice meeting you. I'm Tim. I'm going to check in at the government about a job they offered, so I didn't want to go in the hospital stuff.

[ Marinette chuckled. ]

All right, I know where to pick my fights. [ Keith was the same way. Still as he excused himself, she got to her feet to see him to the door. ]

Oh sure! It was nice meeting you, Tim. Good luck with the job offer! [ Smart move getting a change of clothes - she didn't think hospital garb would be approrpriate. ]

It's nice to see you again, Marinette. (She owes her for her kindness. Without meeting Marinette, she might have been less open about...everything.) Do you mind me visiting?
