002: text @wild.links

I was thinking about this recently and now I'm curious. Do you believe in tarot readings? You know, the prediction of future?

And if you heard that someone saw your future and it had a chance to end badly, would you believe them? Or would you try to change your future?

P.S. If someone knows a good fishing spot, please message me. I met a new orange friend and fish is the way to please him.

Yeah. It's from a Mesopotamian tale. "A merchant in Baghdad sends his servant to the marketplace for provisions. Soon afterwards, the servant comes home white and trembling and tells him that in the marketplace he was jostled by a woman, whom he recognized as Death, and she made a threatening gesture. Borrowing the merchant's horse, he flees at great speed to Samarra, a distance of about 75 miles (125 km), where he believes Death will not find him. The merchant then goes to the marketplace and finds Death, and asks why she made the threatening gesture. She replies, "That was not a threatening gesture, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra.""

[Thanks wikipedia.]

God, I hope not. That would be a depressing world, don't you think?

[Especially the course she's on back home.]

Yeah, I'd definitely prefer to know that if something happened because I messed up, it's because I earned it by messing up rather than because the universe said it had to happen, you know?

[She really doesn't want to cause the end of the world because she was meant to... or cause it in general but if she did it herself it was different than her not having a choice in the matter. And because maybe then here might be a way to stop it.]
