I'm a bit more acclimatized to this world now, but I'm still a bit unfamiliar with things. For example, are there any rules on how one can use abandoned buildings? Back in the world I was living in, I was using an abandoned garage and no one seemed to care. Thought I'd ask before I start looking for buildings that would suit my purposes.

I would think you could find well-lit, well-heated buildings for whatever you had in mind. Does the space you are looking for require equipment or just an open space with nothing in it?

Light and heat aren’t really a necessity.

Hardly. But someone might get that idea, and I would wish them good luck.

Tables would be a good start. Storage space. I would love microscopes, beakers, vials, a Bunsen burner, bookshelves...

If I'm not in error, those are all items for scientific research. Is that what you're hoping to achieve?

And why would you offer me these things when you know nothing of my skill or experience?

The best interview is on the job where I can assess your work personally. There would be, after all, a probationary period and if you fail to meet my standards, you can return to looking for abandoned sites.
