I've been doing a lot of thinking. Mostly about the future. So we're stuck here for five years, right? How many people are planning on staying after that? If so, why?

I mean... [ another bite of fries and he swallows this time before continuing. ] What do people miss the most about their original homes and is it enough to want to go back? If there was one thing about this place that could make you stay, what would it be?

I dunno. Anyway- Loki, I need to make sure I have Wednesday night off. And Jason, I need some advice. Also, Ed, I have a few questions about your alchemy.

It's fine. I don't mind reading, it's just a little difficult when it's not in Greek.

Anyway... sounds like my home. Camp was all about training for suicidal quests.

Considering I don't know Greek, I guess this is easier for both of us then?

Wow, lucky. I never got to train first. Though I guess I sorta got to prepare for the most recent one. Seriously, not planning to go back to my last moments though.

Well, when I first found out I'm a demigod, I didn't really get to train much either. It's only after a lot of war and battle that I've been able to settle and actually get some training. Not that I've really needed it.

So... you're thinking of staying, then?

Yeah, I kind of got tossed into the deep end in the whole alien war thing. The really deep end. I don't think I've really gotten a chance to train yet, besides Chyler totally kicking my butt down at the PG the other day.

[There's a pause, after that, and he makes a soft noise in his throat.]

If the only time they can send me back to is the one I came from, then yeah. Definitely.

I don't blame you. It sounds like that's when people get sent back, if they are. The portal is kind of ficky, though. At least from what I've heard.

Oh sorry. Chyler's a friend of mine, she's a total space cadet, literally.

[And maybe he's using the word 'friend' lightly, but Marco's never much cared if people don't like him back all that much.]

Yeah I heard the portal's touchy. I don't know what other time I'd go back to though, even if I could choose. I don't think things would've gone much differently if I picked a different time. I'd just end up back here. Or dead. Probably dead.

[ pats the side of the bed so marco will join him. ]

I guess I could've worked for the Perimeter Guard, but I like being a bouncer. I make good money too. But that just means I have less experience with the portal. I've heard stories, of course.

Why would you be dead? [ he says it like being dead is a normal thing, and considering who he is, death is pretty normal. still, he wouldn't like it if one of his friends died, so he's a bit worried about marco. ]
