[The video pops on, with Emma sitting in the kitchen of her apartment she shared with Lucy. The fact that she has a pile of cookbooks next to her, shouldn't concern anyone unless you know her of course. ]

Right. let's do this. I'm Emma... Swan. I've been here for a couple of months and recently my granddaughter showed up. It's confusing since when I left my kid was her age, but not the point.

[She sighs smiling a little.]

I figured I should probably learn how to make actual food that isn't Tacos, pizza, pop tarts, or boxed mac and cheese. Are there any gourmet chefs out there?

Not a chef, but you could follow the recipe in those books. Or...in vest in a slow cooker. Throw everything in there and let it cook over night. Saves on time.

What's wrong with tacos?

*Here's a girl, bright blue hair, and very confused as the problem with tacos. She's clearly too young to be of any help, maybe.*

Unless... oh are you using those microwave horror shows? Those aren't tacos.

And why do so many people here not cook!?

You want to learn how to cook? Lucy and I are going to do it together, and I'm sure she'll be happy if you joined us.

I'm no gourmet like my uncle, but I know a few recipes. And I know how to make pastry and bread from scratch if you like fresh bread.

Oh.... Yeah, I mean I do. You don't mind including me? [She smiled at him. ]

That's not what I wanted to ask you though.

I don't really think I could handle gourmet, but I do like bread and Pasta. What's your name?

It's fine. We can go to your place or mine, whatever you prefer.

Cool, Bread and Pasta I can do. I mean, Pasta's probably the easiest and quickest of the two. Oh! My name is Marinette - nice to meet you!

Cooking is a rather important skill. Whether you have a grandchild or not.

Yes. He is.]

I would suggest asking Undertaker, he's taught me how to cook a bit. And kept me from starving or poisoning myself on instant meals when I was on my own.

Yeah..... long story. That slow cooking thing works?

nothing is wrong with Tacos. I love tacos, but I should probably learn something else too right?

No clue. but I didn't grow up with parents, so.... but that's me.

Yes, it does. You basically leave it alone with the ingridients in it, and when you get home, it’s fully cooked.

Oh... I guess that'd limit how much cooking you learn.

*She feels she can understand that a little, but not completely. She only missed one parent.*

Well, my dad ran a Cantina, I had to cook when he worked late. Plus I've been here long enough I know all the ways to cook the more usual local food stuffs.

Mine works. Well, ours. Lucy really likes you.....

[pause as she bites her lip because its Emma and she doesn't emotion well ]

You make this place better.....for me I mean.

I was wondering if you would stay with us and watch Lucy while I'm gone?

The feeling is mutual. Lucy's a wonderful girl.

[his eyebrow raises]

[ Awkward stare for several seconds. She doesn't look old enough to have a granddaughter. WEIRD. ]

I can cook. Though depending on her age, it may not be appealing to her. It's...mostly healthy foods.

She is, but then she is Henry's so I might be biased.

[She pauses and takes a breath ]

There is a scouting mission to the wall. I thought I could help. but I'll be gone for about 10 days. I need someone to look after Lucy. Not that she thinks she needs looking after but she is still a kid and she is Henry's.

[ she grins at him. ]

Just make sure she doesn't talk any side trips to Boston okay?

I think I can manage that.

They didn't have that were I'm from. Can I find one here?

really? [She is relieved to hear this, to be honest. ] How long have you been here?

Well, when you're used to eating pop tarts or things that you can get in a convenience store, anything's got to better right?

[Emma raises an eyebrow at him, because seriously? no, really seriously? ]

[ Yeah, yeah she knows. It's weird to her too. ]

How healthy? if you don't mind my asking?

[ like training for a demanding sport healthy... ]

Lean meats like turkey and chicken, vegetables, rice.

But...I can also make traditional Russian and Kazakh dishes.
