[ With no introduction... ]
back home, one of the main things I used to do was train people to control their abilities - i've spent quite a number of years teaching myself control through various techniques, as it's pretty essential for me to keep things in check.
in a bid to feel useful to the community, interest check:
anyone want training sessions? whether you have abilities you're struggling with, or are just looking to get some more control over yourself, I can help.
[Or at least, try to. ]

and it's not exactly powers, but having more control over myself sounds like a good thing.

i think it's beneficial for most, indeed. i can run some group guided meditation sessions.
no subject
and i'm not very good at sittin still sometimes, but i'd like to try.

the good thing about meditation is that you can do it in 2, 3 minutes sessions. it doesn't have to be like movies make it look like, hours of nothing. you make it work for you, not the other way around.

i'll remind you to eat.
no subject
never had anyone do that since i left the military and had set times
no subject
did they really make you crawl through mud with a gun in your hands?
no subject
but i served in Afghanistan, so it was more about crawling around in burning hot sand.
no subject
i've never met one of those before.
no subject
i've never done anything heroic

what do you do, back home?

[he won't lie about it now that he's been asked, but he's not proud of it either. a survivor survives, one way or another.]
but back home, a new year had just started, and i promised that i was going to get a job this year. i came here and they gave me one. so now i serve coffee, which always smells good but still tastes bitter to me.
no subject
try putting sugar in that coffee, you might like it better
you're enjoying having a job?
no subject
i love it. i love being around people.

[ Don't do it, Minsu. ]
I should come by, one of these day. I'm used to terrible coffee, would be a nice change to have some that isn't toxic sludge.
no subject
[think about it until he inevitably does it.]
come! i can make you a sandwich too and then i'll know that you've at least eaten something.

I can't promise I won't make it difficult, I'm pretty stubborn
but I think we can help each other
are you this willing to help everyone you meet? it's a pretty rare quality to have
no subject
i think so. i haven't met anyone that i wouldn't help. i owe that much.

[and it's such an understatement that if feels almost like a lie. it makes him uncomfortable.]
i'm someone different now. or i'm trying to be.

[ Minsu's not the first one to tell John something like this, and he probably won't be the last, either. But John's different too, from who he was just months ago. ]
well, who you were doesn't matter as much as who you are now. And if you're trying, that's the important part.
no subject
i won't disappoint!
btw what are your abilities?
