[ With no introduction... ]
back home, one of the main things I used to do was train people to control their abilities - i've spent quite a number of years teaching myself control through various techniques, as it's pretty essential for me to keep things in check.
in a bid to feel useful to the community, interest check:
anyone want training sessions? whether you have abilities you're struggling with, or are just looking to get some more control over yourself, I can help.
[Or at least, try to. ]

[ Was Shigeru a recluse, back home? Not that John cared so much, but he was defeinitely very curious about the Quarantine. ]
your phobia is related to your power, isn't it?hopefully I'll be able to help, too. Not being scared of what you can do can only be beneficial.

It's hard...doing things with mysophobia. So back home I never really...went out much. [ Of course he went to his job and on missions and things like that. But casual things were extremely hard for him. ]
But yes that's right. I...I've gotten better with it since coming here. But there's still a lot of things I want to do.

you should make a list of the things you want to do, and achieve. every time you get to cross an item, we can celebrate.

[ Well he had done something similar back home. Not that he ever...got very far with it. For him that list was just a reminder of everything he kept falling back on and how he'd always move one step forward and two steps back. But here it was different, he knew that, so making a list might be feasible this time around. ]
I guess we can do that. I have a few things I still need...help with. And this is good for exposure therapy so I'll definitely make one.
[ he is going to try his best. ]

I've found that trying to keep a positive outlook helps, in general. Don't get me wrong, it's hard. But I've found a lot more control in tapping into positive feelings than negative. Negative is destructive.

It's a bit hard to stay positive, since I've been dealing with this all my life. I guess I just...want to be cured so badly that I want it to instantaneous.
But I know that's not how it works... [ Still he'll remain positive and power through it like he always does. ]
But you've helped put it in perspective so I'll do my best to remain positive!

[ He's seen it a lot - with Clarice in particular, in more recent memory. ]
you're right, it doesn't work like that, but steps, however small they are, are accomplishments and can be celebrated, as well. It might help looking at the big picture.
why don't we meet at the training grounds, say, tomorrow? when we're off work. we can talk it out further. and you don't have to worry about hurting me, so that's a plus.

[ He wasn't expecting it to come up so fast! He has to...mentally prepare himself. Especially if they're going to be working on or doing anything with his phobia. ]
I look forward towards meeting you in person. I'll definitely be there!

but I'll be around the training grounds after my shift anyway.

Should I...bring anything?
[ He's set his mind towards this so he is definitely going to go. ]

[ He just hopes that something can come from it. But he's going to remain positive in the face of everything. ]
