[ On camera, Tear can be seen sitting against her bed with the lens from a distance, as if she's asking a question. She's not sure about the etiquette of face-to-face communication, so she looks... too serious. Laughably too serious to be coming on here and sitting with you like she's about to divorce you or is in a face to face interview. ]

[ It almost sounds like she's going to beat the hell out of whoever does. ]

I'm new here. I was in the hospital for a little while and I've been cured of-- an illness. Anyway, I've been assigned to Search and Rescue. I'm... in a communal dorm it seems.

I'm aware of the responsibility of one to take care of their own information-gathering, however--

[ Immediately she sits up when she hears a bark outside the window. Rushing over to the side, past her roommate's empty bed, she opens the curtains and sees a dog from the festival walking down the road in an adorable costume. ]

Oh my gosh....

[ She's forgotten the camera doesn't turn off by itself when you leave it alone, it seems. ]

(She has the strength to run to the window. Noctis isn't entirely sure what 'better' is, but if she's in treatment, there was an injury or illness at some point.)

while i have you here, could you tell me a little more about this place? i've definitely got the rundown, but I'd like to verify it with the locals too.

I don't know how they have such a potent medicine, but I certainly didn't expect to be out in a day.

I- in any case. [ She turns from the dog. ] You are? I'm Tear.

wouldn't know much more than you do, honestly. not a local, and spent some time in the hospital myself.

(Noctis originally spoke up because of the dog; he can understand her attraction to animals.)

I'm in the community housing, too. It's not really bad. It's like having roommates.

Oh, no worries. I was in the military. I remember the barracks just as easily as everyone else.

[Oh. Oh, pretty girl. Pretty girl with a real serious face. Ichimatsu watches for a while before switching on his own video, just creeping while she talks until just shortly before she skitters off to the window to coo at the passing dog.]

[As she does so nearly immediately, he's left stunned by the 360, and chuffs a quiet laugh, giving his voyeurism away.]

...ah, assuming you were ogling the dog and not whoever was walking it, I work at the Animal Shelter. There's plenty of them.

[ She shakes her head. ] I'd... I'd love to see the animal shelter. After being in the hospital and being told I'll stay here, I could use a bit of relief.

[He types out the location of the Shelter, shuffling around a bit. He figures he'll bring the kittens, they need to get more socialized anyway.]

Head over there whenever, the place works sort of like a petting zoo.

[ Fashionably late? Right away? Tear is desperate to see some cute animals, because underneath the stoic face is someone absolutely driven mad by the circumstances, that she can't save her own world, etc etc personal drama. She needs her fix. ]

I'll come over now, if that's okay?

[nyahilistic]

[He nods, focused on something off-screen.]

Sure, I'll be over there in... five, maybe ten minutes. [Depending on how much trouble these kittens give him in wrangling.]

[ She quickly follows the instructions, grateful to be out of the communal housing where she'd have to meet and greet with her new roommates, and all that stress on top of it... ]

Hello?

[ She's tempted to walk herself in and just. Help herself. ]

[Big Mood, Tear, Big Mood. He comes up behind her as she's calling out to the void, his sandals crunching on the ground.]

...ah, Tear, wasn't it?

Tear.

[ She holds out a gloved hand for him to shake, with a smile. ]

Ichimatsu?

[nyahilistic]

[He blinks. Did he give her his name...? He ducks into a short bow and then takes her hand, looking only marginally stressed by it, bless him, and nods.]

Yeah. Ichimatsu Matsuno, Animal Handler. Um, come on in.

[mystearious]

[ His brother mentioned it, so she sort of guessed by their... identical-ness. ]

Thank you so much. How long do I get to stay?

[nyahilistic]

[It's a little startling, though he registers that it's probable she met one of the others. He scrunches his face just slightly at her question, tilting his head.]

Ah, as... long as you want, really. I guess the hours are posted over on the door somewhere but if someone's here I'm not gonna make them leave.

[The bag slung over his shoulder mewls suddenly, and shifts of its own accord.]

--Oh. [He slinks carefully into the shelter, nudging the door shut with one foot, and crouches down to set the bag on the ground. From it, in short order, emerge three kittens. A white one with heterochromia, a black one with grey eyes that look to be going green as he ages, and a calico. They proceed to climb all over each other, themselves, and Ichimatsu's hands, as he tries to keep them largely in one place without keeping them confined to the bag.]

[ HOLY FUCK

Ichimatsu might hear a soft gasp behind him as she leans over his shoulder, looking at the cute, tiny, adorable kittens. All of this place was such a hard sell for her, but if she at least got to see kittens-- and oh, she can't tell which is her favorite. ]

A-- are they all yours?

[nyahilistic]

[He blinks, looking up and then back down to the kittens, nodding dumbly.]

...yeah. Some... weird guy brought them to my house and told me something like he had a hypothesis I would be the perfect owner for them. [He wasn't wrong. Also Osomatsu hired Gintoki to make Ichimatsu smile, and-- well, it worked.]
