[ On camera, Tear can be seen sitting against her bed with the lens from a distance, as if she's asking a question. She's not sure about the etiquette of face-to-face communication, so she looks... too serious. Laughably too serious to be coming on here and sitting with you like she's about to divorce you or is in a face to face interview. ]

Hello. My name is Tear Grants. If anyone should recognize it-- contact me.

[ It almost sounds like she's going to beat the hell out of whoever does. ]

I'm new here. I was in the hospital for a little while and I've been cured of-- an illness. Anyway, I've been assigned to Search and Rescue. I'm... in a communal dorm it seems.

I'm aware of the responsibility of one to take care of their own information-gathering, however--

[ Immediately she sits up when she hears a bark outside the window. Rushing over to the side, past her roommate's empty bed, she opens the curtains and sees a dog from the festival walking down the road in an adorable costume. ]

Oh my gosh....

[ She's forgotten the camera doesn't turn off by itself when you leave it alone, it seems. ]

[ She holds out a gloved hand for him to shake, with a smile. ]

Ichimatsu?

[nyahilistic]

[He blinks. Did he give her his name...? He ducks into a short bow and then takes her hand, looking only marginally stressed by it, bless him, and nods.]

Yeah. Ichimatsu Matsuno, Animal Handler. Um, come on in.

[mystearious]

[ His brother mentioned it, so she sort of guessed by their... identical-ness. ]

Thank you so much. How long do I get to stay?

[nyahilistic]

[It's a little startling, though he registers that it's probable she met one of the others. He scrunches his face just slightly at her question, tilting his head.]

Ah, as... long as you want, really. I guess the hours are posted over on the door somewhere but if someone's here I'm not gonna make them leave.

[The bag slung over his shoulder mewls suddenly, and shifts of its own accord.]

--Oh. [He slinks carefully into the shelter, nudging the door shut with one foot, and crouches down to set the bag on the ground. From it, in short order, emerge three kittens. A white one with heterochromia, a black one with grey eyes that look to be going green as he ages, and a calico. They proceed to climb all over each other, themselves, and Ichimatsu's hands, as he tries to keep them largely in one place without keeping them confined to the bag.]

[ HOLY FUCK

Ichimatsu might hear a soft gasp behind him as she leans over his shoulder, looking at the cute, tiny, adorable kittens. All of this place was such a hard sell for her, but if she at least got to see kittens-- and oh, she can't tell which is her favorite. ]

A-- are they all yours?

[nyahilistic]

[He blinks, looking up and then back down to the kittens, nodding dumbly.]

...yeah. Some... weird guy brought them to my house and told me something like he had a hypothesis I would be the perfect owner for them. [He wasn't wrong. Also Osomatsu hired Gintoki to make Ichimatsu smile, and-- well, it worked.]

[ Awwww. Like a Fun Hitman? How thoughtful. ]

What are their names...? How old are they? How did he get them?

[ She's admittedly taking off her gloves so she can actually pet them and feel their fluffy fluffy fur because oh my god. ]

[nyahilistic]

[Gintoki is an Anything Hitman, really. He calls himself Odd Jobs Gin for a reason-- he'll do whatever he's paid to, really.]

[And... Well, Ichimatsu is a little overwhelmed by her immediate fondness of the kittens, and all her questions. He purses his lips, recoiling slightly from where she moves to pet them to let her do so without being in her bubble, and then frowns in thought.]

...I haven't settled on names just yet, but they're about three months old, I think. Not sure where he got them. The calico is female, but the other two are male.

[mystearious]

They deserve really, really cute names...

[ Her hand scratches under the chin of the calico, too wary to pick one up, almost like that would be too much all at once. ]

... two brothers and one sister. Cute. ♥ Matching names?

[nyahilistic]

[He settles into a folded crouch, knees drawn toward his chest and arms curled around them, settling his chin atop his knees.]

...probably. You knew my name, so I assume you've met one of my brothers.

[mystearious]

I did! Osomatsu. I was out during the festival... you know. I was wandering around wondering what to do with myself after... all that. The dogs were a nice distraction...

[ She blushes a tiny bit, letting a kitten scratch up and climb her arm. The pain doesn't even register, it's too cute. ]

But I think I prefer cats.

[nyahilistic]

[He frowns, thinking about that, and nods.]

I prefer cats to most people, so. [He reaches out and dangles his fingers for one of the other kittens to play with.] Osomatsu probably mentioned we're sextuplets, I was thinking about naming the kittens after our other three brothers... But the calico is a girl, and I think any of them would be mad if I named a girl cat after them. [But he might name her after Totty, anyway.]

[mystearious]

Calicos are always girls, right? ... or very rarely have boys?

[ Someone probably entertained herself learning about cat breeds as a young child. ]

... I'm sure they'd be honored to be a part of the family.

[nyahilistic]

I think just about always, yeah. The chromosomes for coat color are carried in the X chromosome, which also designates female sex.

[Not to worry, this is an easy conversation topic for Ichimatsu. He laughs softly.]

I'm not so sure. We're pretty lame, and moreso to each other than anything else.

[mystearious]

I'm envious. I always wanted more siblings... or something like that. It's complicated with my brother.

[ or like a family that's not genocidal ]

Do you have a favorite? I could never choose... [ It'd be like choosing a favorite child ]

[nyahilistic]

[He brings his hand back to fold around his knees again, pillowing his cheek on one knee.]

...family is hard, sometimes. [But he wouldn't trade the shitheads for the world.]

[He blinks, confused for a moment and thinking she's asking if he has a favorite brother, and then realizing she means the kittens, and squints in thought at them.]

They're too young to have really shown their personalities yet. I have an adult cat, too, he's back at the house, we've... Been through a lot together. [Nyanko is his Son.]

... You know? It really is.

[ She has a Vanmatsu and it's considerably less fun. ]

That's true... you'd want to give them a name that'd fit. I'm not very good at them... like, Clover. For the good luck? [ She chuckles. ] See?

-- [ She stops when she mentions the other cat. ] Is he your childhood pet?

[nyahilistic]

[Ichimatsu might argue he's just mad because "Vandasdelca" is a really dumb name, but he also wouldn't want to be rude. At least "Mystearica" is pretty. Vandesdelca just sounds like the name of a monster truck.]

[His eyes scrunch closed in a smile she can't see his mouth for, and he shakes his head.]

Clover is a good name. My-- sort of? He's been around for a while. I fed a lot of strays, back home, and he... Just stuck around. If it helps at all, though... We call him ESP Nyanko, for a... really weird reason, so I'm not great at names, either.

'ESP Nyanko' is cute. That means it's just fine.

[ Tear, you have a weird definition of cute... ]

You should meet Mieu. He's not quite a cat, but he's...

[He doesn't quite frown, but his expression shifts barely enough to be noticed.]

You like cute things, I take it.

"Mieu"? Sounds like a cat, but in... French, or something.

He's a cheagle. He talks because he wears a magic ring, and-- makes kind of like cat noises, and has big puffy ears. I'm going to miss him.

[nyahilistic]

Che...agle, huh. Never heard of it.

[A beat.]

...Nyanko talks because he took a weird needle in the ass for me. [This sounds about as lame as it is.]

I-- wh-- how.

[nyahilistic]

[He pinches the bridge of his nose.]

I'm terrified of needles. A series of unfortunate events lead to a crazy professor in our city aiming to give me a shot so I could understand the feelings of animals, and... he got in the way. So... now he speaks truths if people lie.

[mystearious]

...That's so cute. He even has a little superpower...

[ REGARDLESS OF HOW HE GOT IT-- for some reason, that 'crazy professor' line reminds her of Jade chasing down Luke and accidentally poking Mieu instead. ]

I'd love to meet all cats.
