[ On camera, Tear can be seen sitting against her bed with the lens from a distance, as if she's asking a question. She's not sure about the etiquette of face-to-face communication, so she looks... too serious. Laughably too serious to be coming on here and sitting with you like she's about to divorce you or is in a face to face interview. ]

Hello. My name is Tear Grants. If anyone should recognize it-- contact me.

[ It almost sounds like she's going to beat the hell out of whoever does. ]

I'm new here. I was in the hospital for a little while and I've been cured of-- an illness. Anyway, I've been assigned to Search and Rescue. I'm... in a communal dorm it seems.

I'm aware of the responsibility of one to take care of their own information-gathering, however--

[ Immediately she sits up when she hears a bark outside the window. Rushing over to the side, past her roommate's empty bed, she opens the curtains and sees a dog from the festival walking down the road in an adorable costume. ]

Oh my gosh....

[ She's forgotten the camera doesn't turn off by itself when you leave it alone, it seems. ]

And what you do is a very good thing. [ She finally sets it down and folds her hands behind her back, letting the fluff walk alongside her. ]

... I'll name them Satys.

[His shoulders are all hunched up around his ears and he just looks uncomfortable, but he's happy she's happy and the weird creature also appears to be. He trots alongside her slowly at her heels, waddling on its short legs.]

Does that mean something?

It was my mother's middle name. Back where I was... supposed to come from, middle names were very important.

... Tear Grants is actually a false name. I'm Mystearica Aura Fende. But please continue to call me Tear.

[That sure is a mouthful. He tries to sound out the names, fumbles, and shakes his head like he's clearing his thoughts.]

...guess that explains "mystearious", hm?

... Yeah, I thought it was a good pun. Everyone else made them.

[ She's not good at. Jokes. ]

[nyahilistic]

[He laughs shortly, and shrugs.]

I mean I use "ny4n", where the "a" is a 4, because I'm the fourth of six.

[ ... that actually gets a laugh out of her?? ]

That's really clever, actually.

[He makes a startled sound when she laughs-- RIP, she's so cute. He's going to die.]

...ah, not really.

I think so. That must mean something, hm?

[ She and Satys walk along with him back to the front desk, where there are presumably papers... etc ]

Now then-- what do I have to do to take him home?

[ by the sound of her voice she'd do nearly anything ]

[He forgets himself for a solid minute, stammering when she asks about procedures and shuffling to a file cabinet in something of a tizz. He opens a drawer and leafs through file tabs until he finds the one for the bizarre mammalian fluff Tear has chosen to name Satys. He offers it to her and continues to flip tabs.]

Just need your name, some details, and if you have a permanent residence here. Are you still in communal housing?

I'm afraid so. I am still new here, after all...

[ She looks over the papers, quietly filling them in. ]

[nyahilistic]

No trouble, then, just leave that blank and I'll put a sticky note on it. If you move out to your own place we'll update it.

[He offers her the file on Satys.]

We don't have a whole lot of information on a lot of the animals, there's not much literature on the fauna in Quarantine. Most of this is conjecture and observation while he's been here.

I see...

[ She fixes Ichimatsu seriously in her gaze, nodding. ]

I'll take good care of him. Such good care of him it's unthinkable, and if there's anything I can't handle I'll come to you.

[ Her voice speaks of determination, though, to handle this on her own with pride and respect befitting a soldier's task, not...

... ♥ adopting a cute widdle cabbit dog ♥ ]

[He blinks.]

[And then snorts, breaking into quiet laughter.]

You really are super serious. I'll hold you to that, though.

[Bless you, Tear. He's needed this simple interaction so much.]

[ She smiles, hands back the paperwork, and rubs Satys' back. She plans on finding a nice secluded place to love up on him and maybe walk him around the dog festival, even if he isn't a dog. ]

[ She'll bow her head slightly, and after any more pleasantries, escort herself and her new pet out. ]
