Very familiar with it. I can't cast anything, but I grew up around it.

How so?

[ Unusual, Loki thinks to himself. Growing up around magic, but still having to go to school? ]

Both of my grandmother's on my dad's side can wield magic...and my great-grandfather, had magic too. He wasn't born with it, though. He got it through another means--which wasn't a good thing.

In my world, fairytales are real and so is their magic.

[ Ah yes. Loki remembers that from the previous Emma. Who attempted to lecture to him about portals. ]

Fairytales?

....You've never heard of fairytales?

[How....WHY?! Clearly, this needs to be fixed.]

There's tons of fairytales, and I know quite a few of them. I can get a few books in a few minutes and show you!

If...if you want that is.

I have been told of a few. Such as . . . a woman in a tower, I believe. There were a lot of stories that seemed inappropriate for children, to be honest.

Yeah, that's Rapunzel...and there are different versions of those fairytales, all of whom have their own story.

Like which ones? I thought you didn't know any.

I asked the network about them some time back. The results were quite mixed.

...They should've given you the basics at least.

If you want, I can visit you and go over some of the most recognizable ones.

I'm not sure what qualifies as basics.

[ He certainly hasn't seen any Disney. ]

Where shall we meet?

Snow White and The Seven Drawfs, Cinderella, and Little Red Riding Hood. Those are a few of the basic fairytales.

Uhh, maybe a diner? Or a park? I just need to be home before it gets late.

The park will do.

[ He still wonders if Emma is truly fine with it, but it's not really his concern. Loki, the not so good adult. ]

Great! I can be there in about...ten minutes? Is that alright?

[Hey, she said she would be careful....and to be fair, it's not like she's going anywhere with Loki. Just meeting up--two totally different things.]

That is fine.

[ It won't take long for Loki to teleport there. ]

[ It takes about twelve minutes before Lucy arrives at the park with a book that has fairytales in them. It has a few pictures, but it was the nicer versions of the stories she knows, granted they’re not the whole story, but it would Loki a good glimpse into the world she was from.

She manages to sit the books down on a bench before looking around.

A god can’t be that hard to spot, right? ]

[ Not at all. Especially when Loki is sporting a green tunic and slacks, but still looks vaguely ethereal and out of place. He spots her easily, heading her way. ]

Lucy Mills, I presume?

Yes, that's me...

[Looking up at the God, he really is pretty. The color green looks beautiful on him, and he is a lot taller than she would've guessed. Nearly forgetting her manners, she is quick to curtsy and bow her head as a sign of respect.]

It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person. I have the stories and can't wait to tell you about them.

[dothelokimotion]

[ His eyebrows go up slightly at the curtsy, his eye alight with good humour. ]

Yes. Perhaps I should have come to you from the start.

But that's okay! You're here now and I can go over these stories with you. Starting with one of my favorites... [She shows him the book of Cinderella.]

We can sit down on the bench, if you want. Or, I could stand and read it to you. It doesn't have too many pictures, so no need to look at them or anything.

Sitting seems more polite.

[ And he does, smoothing over the creases in his clothes. ]

Cinder-Ella?

[Lucy follows his lead, sitting next to him and opening her book.]

It's one word: Cinderella.

Now, depending upon the version of the story, the details will be different. And in my world, my mom is Cinderella, but her story is nothing like this. But, I thought this would be a good starting point.

[And she starts to read him the story of Cinderella.]

[ Cinderella sounds like a terrible name but Loki keeps that to himself as he listens attentively. ]

[So Lucy starts on the story, how Cinderella had a mother and a father, but then her mother died...she goes over each word of the story, trying to keep things upbeat and not too dramatic.

Plus, she wants Loki to understand the details and doesn't rush at all. By the time she's done, she looks up at him.]

There's another version of this story too, and it has songs to it, but I thought this would be the best way to introduce you to fairy tales. So, what did you think?

It is interesting. Very linear.

You said this is your mother?

[thestoriesarereal]

Well, sort of. So in my world, just like there are other worlds, my mom is Cinderella. Except, her story isn't exactly the same.

[And so Lucy starts to explain what happened: how her mother had two step sisters, except one nearly died. How her step-mother didn't like her, and how Cinderella--Ella, went to the ball to kill a prince because he stole her father's kingdom. But she didn't kill the prince, instead she left and fell in love with her father, an Author.

And how they all banded together to bring down the evil step-mother.]
