Astrology’s a funny thing. Every world, somewhere back in its history, has some kind of lore about the stars, about how they function as auguries, or how they determine individual fates. You’d think that an intergalactic civilization would put paid to that sort of thing—but it persists on each world, and not only that, but you can triangulate some interesting correspondences amongst different planetary traditions if you know your interstellar navigation well enough.

Indulge an eccentric, won’t you—if you have such traditions where you come from, I’d like to hear about them. And if you’ve heard anything about astrology amongst the locals, tell me more.

There are a lot where I'm from.
We got the rabbit in the moon is a really popular story told to children.

But!
I think my favorite legend is the one around Tanabata, the Star Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (which are apparently symbologized by the stars Vega and Altair respectively)! According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the year.
