Whomsoever is responsible for the rash of memory loss that is sweeping across the quarantine, I demand you step forward and reverse this, now.

[ TWO of her siblings are affected by this; it is unacceptable. ]

Have we not suffered enough, under the thrall of the artifact some months ago? [ She means the Temporal Chalice, which altered the lives and histories of so many here in the quarantine. ] Come forth and answer for your crimes. Reverse this plague and return our city to a state of peace.

[ Or else she'll cut you down where you stand, being the implication. ]

I can understand how this may be distressing, but I somehow doubt who- or what- ever is responsible will come forth in the face of mere threats.

But you say something like this has happened before?

My threats are not "mere" anything. I will follow through on my promises.

[ She sighs, but the anger doesn't leave her. ]

Yes, several weeks back. Many of us lived lives that were different from the ones we truly have lived. We had memories of those separate lives, we were... physically changed, in some cases. [ She was missing an arm, for example. She glances down at the restored arm and makes a fist. ]

It was not a pleasant experience.

That may be true, but I would think a being capable of altering the memories of so many wouldn’t care much one way or another.

[ Well that sounds… distressing, and it shows in his expression. ]

What became of the artifact?

I do not know. I only know that the effects ended, and we were all returned to our rightful selves. If you wish to know more, you must ask Lucretia or the network user, "fromTV." The artifact was from their home universe.

It would be wise to seek them out, perhaps the two incidents are related.

And even if they are not, if they hail from a star where such things can happen, they may know of a solution.

I have been assured they are not responsible, nor do they know how to fix it. They seem to think the affected are not the victims of a magic spell.

Something else, then. I admit I've only just arrived here, and I have very little idea as to what else it could be. Would the technology here be capable of such a thing?

Technology, or some cause of natural origin. The flora and fauna here is mysterious and strange.

Then it appears I’m out of my depth on both counts. I’m familiar with herbs that can muddle the mind, but they usually don’t do so on their own. They would need to be ingested or burned, and likely mixed with a few other key ingredients besides.

I know of no common herb that has been ingested or inhaled by those affected. I fear the solution is beyond me.
