[ In Riverview, a new building has appeared! It is large, opulent with statues standing at the roofs, representing the royal family of Asgard (sans Thor, Thor doesn’t get a statue, sorry. Maybe he’ll get a child’s rendition of a painting inside the halls. Later). There is a choir of children standing on the steps, dressed in white robes. Who immediately burst into this song ]

[ When the song reaches its crescendo, the choir parts at the middle as Loki descends from the steps, dressed in black leathers and a golden horned helm, waving at the choir with a beatific smile. He stops at the end of the steps as the song finishes. ]

Thank you. This little ceremony is to show that Odin’s Odeon, named so after my dearly very much departed father. May he rest in . . . peace. This theatre is open to the public and people are more than welcome to submit any kind of works they wish to present. Plays, performances, you name it and most likely we will allow it. Our upcoming performance is The Tragedie of Loki of Asgard and the casting call is open to all. We will also be having an open house party hosted by Taako and myself. I hope to see you all there.

[ Loki pauses, pleased at the wrap up before glancing at the expectant children behind him. With a faint sigh, he snaps his fingers and there are sweets falling from the sky and children screeching in delight before the feed ends. ]

Magic has basis in scientific laws and principles. I use an internal formula within my body to maintain and use energy and matter to enact "magical acts".

But you are forgiven. I am well aware that certain worlds are far behind.

[Roy returns the sour expression. Ah, so he was dealing with one of those types. Good to know.]

Then surely you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction to learn more about this 'magic,' since you're so well versed in it.

Certainly. You might consider looking at the Gramarye Institute. I am a consultant and researcher there.

[The egos are strong with these two.

This also isn't the first time Roy's heard of this Institute. Originally, he wanted to distance himself from anything to do with 'magic,' but he's started to grasp that it's not the kind of nonsense that you would run into from the ignorant or superstitious.]

[ Some of the tension slips. Loki isn't particularly annoyed, but it is an old mentality he hasn't dealt in a while. Perhaps he is merely rusty. ]

There are plenty of people willing to lend you their knowledge of the various magics they have learned.

That's good to know. It certainly wouldn't hurt to find myself an expert.

[He doesn't know if he want this man of all people to be said expert. Roy was sure he knew his stuff, but teaching required patience and he didn't think this guy had much of it.]

Who would you recommend?

That depends entirely on what you wish to learn more. Portals? Illusions? Nature magic?

Whatever would be best for an alchemist to start with.

[How was he supposed to know what different magics there were?]

I suggest then simply getting familiar with the kinds there are and decide which works better. In my reality, science and magic are not so separate. And I imagine your alchemy may seem like magic to many.

There is some misunderstanding about alchemy to some people back where I'm from, mostly for people from rural areas where alchemy isn't as prevalent.
