[ In Riverview, a new building has appeared! It is large, opulent with statues standing at the roofs, representing the royal family of Asgard (sans Thor, Thor doesn’t get a statue, sorry. Maybe he’ll get a child’s rendition of a painting inside the halls. Later). There is a choir of children standing on the steps, dressed in white robes. Who immediately burst into this song ]

That physique! How can I speak, weak at the knees

To gawk and grovel and stare at Prince Loki

[ When the song reaches its crescendo, the choir parts at the middle as Loki descends from the steps, dressed in black leathers and a golden horned helm, waving at the choir with a beatific smile. He stops at the end of the steps as the song finishes. ]

Thank you. This little ceremony is to show that Odin’s Odeon, named so after my dearly very much departed father. May he rest in . . . peace. This theatre is open to the public and people are more than welcome to submit any kind of works they wish to present. Plays, performances, you name it and most likely we will allow it. Our upcoming performance is The Tragedie of Loki of Asgard and the casting call is open to all. We will also be having an open house party hosted by Taako and myself. I hope to see you all there.

[ Loki pauses, pleased at the wrap up before glancing at the expectant children behind him. With a faint sigh, he snaps his fingers and there are sweets falling from the sky and children screeching in delight before the feed ends. ]

No. And I've traveled quite far. It's possible that they reside in your reality and nowhere else.

I hope they only exist in my reality because we got them mostly under control there and they're seriously nasty.

I don't doubt it. Invasion takes its toll on mankind.

yeah. especially when it's brain-controlling slugs and you don't know who is and isn't one

Is it still ongoing?

depends on your definition of ongoing. we won the war, they opted to spend the rest of their lives in permanent snake or whale morphs because it was better than what they are naturally. there's still controllers out there but not many. lots of casualties. we're not over it, as a species.

No. That is the way it is. No one gets over anything, it is simply there. A scab that never heals over.

My father was a warlord, though he hid it well.

Is it? I thought it was enlightening. It is not easy to admit such things. Like a steel trap.

same to you, though, dude, about opening up. though I guess I never really thought of it as opening up. I'm used to everyone knowing about my war. it was kind of a big deal

Everyone knows who I am. To some degree. I have never found that easier.

you're loki, right? man, with a rep like that I don't really blame you for finding it hard. my rep was 'big damn hero' so I guess I got it easy.

He tried to start over. Of course, he hid his past from everyone as well.

[ Odin is a half-full half-empty kind of dad. Loki still resents him but his feelings will probably always be mixed. ]

I always found heroic reputations to be more difficult. People expect more out of you and get disappointed otherwise.
