[ He turns on the video immediately and smiles a bit into the camera. The smile, at the very least, appears to be sincere. Maybe. The room is quiet, he's in a private room. ]

So - I just arrived here, and while the orientation was very helpful, I have questions of my own, and personal experience from those who arrived in a similar manner to myself might be the best ones to give me that.

First, I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Ryo Asuka and I'm the newest Professor at the University, and I teach archaeology.

[ He does seem to be quite young, more like - he should be a student, not a professor. ]

I've worked on a few archaeological sites, and I'd like to hear about some of the more fascinating locations beyond the wall. I'd like to personally go, but I wonder if it would be too dangerous to go alone.

[ Not that danger seems to bother him, but he'd like to hear others evaluations of how dangerous it is. ]

I still think I may want to go, but I am curious if it is worth the risk. It is hard to resist temptation.

[ There's the briefest hint of amusement when he says that. Props his elbow up on the table and leans into his hand, smile still present. ]

Oh - tell me, if you've gone out there, what is the most dangerous creature you've encountered.

From what I hear the creatures vary. There are strange environments to boot. You'll probably want to bring a group, professor.

Ah - so that dangerous then. Disappointing that I can't go alone, but finding a group shouldn't prove too difficult.

That's for sure. If you check out the mission board, there are missions you can join and we're pretty much swimming in combatants, funnily enough.

What kind of things are you looking to find? Any personal interests?

That's incredibly lucky for those of us who aren't really.

I studied Archaeology, but my expertise is in ancient civilizations and religions.

Just as good for the ones getting bored of perimeter work. Might want to bring a really big stick anyway, though.

Gotcha. My dad had some interest, but I don't really know much about it. There might be something worth salvaging from the abandoned area or the forest. You don't need a permit to go out, but I'd get a permit from the city and log a dig site, just to be safe.

I'm decent with a gun, so I won't be totally defenseless.

I appreciate your advice. I'll remember that. I would hate to get in trouble in my first weeks here for crossing a line they didn't want crossed.

If you're thinking of going out beyond the wall I don't mind helping! It's definitely safer to go with a group, even people with powers do that, and for good reason! I'm a doctor so in case of emergencies my powers are really useful for whatever might happen out there.

But there's all sorts of weird creatures! I even drew some pictures of a few that I've seen, if you'd to take a look at them.

[ Ryo appears after only a few moments. He likes to keep to schedule, after all. He's dressed in head to toe white. He...stands out. ]

Are you the one here to share some pictures with me?

[ Shigeru will be flipping through his drawing pad when Ryo finally comes down. That sure is some outfit...Ryo. But Shigeru don't judge. He'll smile and nod at the question. He's not wearing his ring today so there's no speaking from him as he's mute. He'll take out his phone to have it speak for him however. ]

Yes that's right! I'm Shigeru! I brought one of my pads with me and you're free to look through it.

[ He doesn't like people touching his things...at all. But this was one of his early sketch pads so he's not too concerned with giving it away. ]

[ Ryo is all about everything in white. He wishes his room here was like it was at home, but he's sure once he's settled and gets his own place, he can. Ryo nods, eyes still focused on Shigeru despite where the voice is coming from. He doesn't question it.

Behaving himself means he's not going to just take things from someone. Still, he's gentle with another person's property. ]

I appreciate it. It will be great to have some idea of what's out there before I make a move for it.

[ He still... sort of intends to do it on his own if he can. ]

M-Most things are pretty dangerous, so that's why people suggest going with someone. If you'd like to go a little bit outside the wall I can take you?

[ But Shigeru is really only used to going there by himself. Still he's confident in his own abilities to get Ryo there and back safely. ]

Ah, that's why. I would like to go. I'm curious.

[ Ryo is pretty unafraid, honestly. Even if there's dangerous things. For good reason, he lived this life surrounded by demons. ]
