[When Freya appears on the screen she has her usual friendly smile but also bright red hair. Her fingers run through the silky strands a few times before she remembers that she's already turned on her device.]
Hi! For those who don't know, I'm Freya and today if Pi Day! [She's a total nerd and loves this holiday.] If you don't know what Pi Day is, ask Victor. It has to do with circles and math.
You know what else is a circle? Pie.
On the topic of pie, I would like some for Pi Day but I can't bake to save my life and I don't know where the best pie in Quarantine is. So I need your help! Hit me up and we can all celebrate Pi Day together. Any pie is good. I'm not picky. Except I can't eat anything with chocolate in it. There's a whole deathly allergic thing.
[A beat.]
I also dyed my hair red.
[In case it went unnoticed.]

[Not officially or anything, but Ed went with it. A lot of people celebrated it, he has nothing to offer on the pie conversation, though.]
What's your favorite kind of pie?
[Just don't say apple, Freya.]
[She thinks she remembers from her short time in Japan.]
It depends. I really like pecan pie or pumpkin or cherry or apple... [She pauses.] Maybe I'm not that picky about pies. [It sounds like this is new information for her.]
Right now? I really want a slice of pumpkin pie.

[He pauses as if considering, before shrugging.]
We didn't really celebrate holidays in the "traditional" sense where I was before, there were too many people from other worlds kind of like this one. People kind of made up their own ways of celebrating, but I think it had a lot more to do with just finding something to be happy about.
[It was a dark place, and the epitome of boring if you weren't struggling to survive. Finding joy in the little things was how most people coped.]
Pumpkin sounds good, I'm sure there's a diner around here somewhere with pumpkin pie available.

[Life isn't easy but holidays make them easier.]
I do suggest you don't go around giving people who see Valentines day and White days as romantic holidays the wrong idea but good on you for doing your own thing. [Leading people on his low, though Freya's done it before in the name of survival.]
Really? I'm not sure where. I'm made a lot of passes around the city but I was sure I'd be able to pick up the scent of pumpkin.
/climbs back into this thread late
[Ed doesn't know anything about romantic holidays. A pause, frowning at her words.]
I've given gifts to people, but I always explain that Purg was a little unconventional when I do it. Having a holiday specifically for white ribbons just sounds weird, but at least the name makes more sense. I guess it would have been better labeled "letter day" with how it was celebrated there.
[He's just squinting at that.]
You can smell if a place has pumpkin just by passing it?
<3
[That's fairly friendly for a romantic holiday. Freya thinks that people over think these things to much.]
Letter day? That sounds so random. White has to do with the purity of your affection and you only give it to one person. Usually. I think. I'm not really sure.
[She offers him a skeptical look.]
Can't you? Anywhere who's making pumpkin pie uses pumpkin spice which is nutmeg and super pungent.

[The school thing, he's kind of fascinated since he'd basically been convinced that Valentine's was strictly romantic and for the most part he'd just had that suspicion confirmed when he brought it up on the network years ago.]
Every year everyone got a box assigned to them, and inside the box we'd find letters from friends back home or who used to be in Purg. I don't know that the letters really came from anyone we knew, Purgatorium was weird like that, so much effort was put into taking away our hope... Then we'd get little things like that to spark it again. It could have all been part of the plan.
[He's just going to squint at her wording and the look.]
No, I can't smell individual ingredients a place has just by walking near it. I don't know any human that can.
[He does immediately think of Aaron though, he might have been able to do something like that, he'd never exactly talked about it.]
no subject
[It's sad really.]
That sounds like letter day. Cool but not what I am used too. [She'll log that away with all the other random information she knows and has nothing to do with.]
Seriously? I feel like everyone can smell nutmeg. Maybe it's just because I don't like it. [Freya sticks out her tongue while a grimace colors her features.] It's not very tasty and one of the ingredients in pumpkin spice. I just add cinnamon instead because cinnamon is awesome!

It was still called White Day, but who knows why... old habits dying hard, I guess. A lot of people tried to keep a piece of home with them.
[He is making the most skeptical face right now, Freya. Nope, not buying it.]
Not from outside when it's usually kept in some sort of container, no. If just anyone can do it, that's news to me.
no subject
[She admits with a lazy roll of her shoulders. It isn't something Freya put a lot of thought in though now she might do a little research, assuming this place had books on random holidays and their different origins... probably not but it wouldn't hurt to take a look.
Curiosity is sometimes a dangerous thing.]
Mmm, maybe I'm just unlucky or special. I'll spin this on the positive side and say that I must be special. If I was given a super power I wouldn't want it to be a super sniffer. I'd want to be able to create ice or something. That sounds cooler.
no subject
You're probably special.
[He'd hate for it to come off like an insult, but also it wasn't that hard to believe that maybe on her world things were different and people could just smell things that easily. At the last part though he pauses, seeming to try to reel in his reaction to those words.]
Trust me, there's nothing great about that, it's pretty limited.
no subject
[Freya is very confident and has a small ego that helps her do and say very ridiculous things from time to time. The truth is, she knows what she's good at and she knows what she's bad at.]
I guess so but that's a very depressing way to think, don't you think?
no subject
It's depressing to think at all about the power that nearly got me killed.
[He's not bitter.]

[She is the queen of pointing out the obvious.]

[The most deadpan.]

[Cue awkward silence.]
