[When Freya appears on the screen she has her usual friendly smile but also bright red hair. Her fingers run through the silky strands a few times before she remembers that she's already turned on her device.]
Hi! For those who don't know, I'm Freya and today if Pi Day! [She's a total nerd and loves this holiday.] If you don't know what Pi Day is, ask Victor. It has to do with circles and math.
You know what else is a circle? Pie.
On the topic of pie, I would like some for Pi Day but I can't bake to save my life and I don't know where the best pie in Quarantine is. So I need your help! Hit me up and we can all celebrate Pi Day together. Any pie is good. I'm not picky. Except I can't eat anything with chocolate in it. There's a whole deathly allergic thing.
[A beat.]
I also dyed my hair red.
[In case it went unnoticed.]

[It's honest, and he's grinning as he says it - even if he might prefer blondes, himself.]
Deathly allergic to chocolate, good to know.
[Filing that information away for later.]
Where I'm from pies are made with cheese. Meat and cheese, veggies and cheese. There are all different kinds, but basically all of them have cheese. Every region has their own specific pie they're more famous for too, different types of cheese.
no subject
Thanks. I don't think it'll stay but it's a nice change.
[She also likes being blond.]
That sounds delicious. Where are you from? [Freya is trying to remember who has cheese and meat pies. She knows that there are some places with meat pies but the cheese clue is throwing her off.]
no subject
[Whatever, not the point.]
It looks good, you really pull it off.
[At the question he pauses, seeming to consider just how to answer.]
Cetanose, Greece. It's uh- fairly small, near Athens. Greece, though I guess that's the point, Greece has plenty of regions with different cheese pies. They're really good!
[He's not biased.]
no subject
[She flashes a warm teasing smile. She doesn't think that he'll actually want to dye his hair but the thought makes her smile.]
I can't say I've heard of it but I've always wanted to go to Greece.
no subject
[So probably not.]
Not surprising, it's pretty small. Considering the gods and all that, I wouldn't put it past them to have the place shrouded from outsiders or something like that anyway. I can't take you to Greece, but we could do a pie tour. What do you think? I'm pretty okay at baking, I could make a bunch of different pies to try... You could help if you want, unless baking's not your thing. I can handle a few pies on my own.
no subject
[She's only teasing and she hopes her smile gives her away.]
Baking is really not my thing. Not unless you want fire and brimstone and death... I might be a bit dramatic but you get the point. [Freya snickers softly.] All that aside, I love this idea. A tour of pies. You cook and I watch and eat.
I'm very good at commentary.
no subject
[He's still grinning, he might not even care if she's serious. Orion's never been much of a drinker but that came with having approximately zero social life growing up, no wild keg parties to go to or anything like that.]
I'd prefer to avoid the whole death thing. I'm sure I can find something useful for you to do... like hand me various cheeses to mix before baking. Setting the timer, those kind of things.
Commentary is good, can't go wrong with some fun commentary. Just don't spend too much time making fun of my inability to cook or I might need to kick you out.
[He's lived on his own long enough to be confidant in his skills in the kitchen as far as throwing together a few traditional pies is concerned. He's not expecting it to be a culinary masterpiece but a step up from fire and brimstone at least.]
no subject
I am a very good handerer. Master of handing things.
[She's excited at the prospect of pie.]
Considering I can't cook, I am really not in a position to make fun of others cooking. I can tell you when you're burning things. I have a nose for that sort of thing.
no subject
Great, you're hired! You can hand me things... and tell me if anything's burning. I'll try not to let it get that far, though.
[To him it is mostly a joke, he can survive well enough in the kitchen and he doesn't really get the depth of her 'good nose' comment.]
no subject
[She is looking forward to food.]
Just name the time. I assume collecting materials is part of the prep.
no subject
Oh- uh. Any time, I actually have today off. We can run to the store and grab some things, yeah. Sounds like a plan.
[They'll need to do that, of course. He's so good at planning ahead.]
Your floor or mine?
[He's not picky.]
no subject
[Which floor does she live on again?]
Yours, lets do yours and does two hours from now work for you? I'm at work and leaving early is probably a good way to get fired which I'm actually trying to avoid. [It is rare for her.]
no subject
[Can't help you there, Freya.]
Yeah, sure, any time. I'm sure there's some 24 hour stores open if we have to run late.
[He's joking.]
Don't get fired over pie, it's definitely not worth it. I'll probably just surf the web in the meantime. Maybe try to hunt down the best Greek pie recipe Quarantine has.
no subject
[She's fairly sure she's on the 14th floor.]
You can get a head start on the shopping if you want. I'll meet you at floor one right after work though.
[Freya's smile widens.]
Pie is absolutely a serious issue.
no subject
[Because he cares so much about making sure she stays employed, as if he feels responsible for her or something.]
All right, I'll get started. Just let me know when you're on the way.
no subject
[Freya playfully rolls her eyes.]
Yeah. It'll be in an hour or so.
no subject
[He might be teasing, it can be hard to tell with him.]
All right, cool. Cool. I'll run to the store then, do you want anything? You know, not pie related?
no subject
[Freya laughs softly.]
You're just opening a whole can full of worms. How about you grab us some snacks for the pre-pie snackage and then something fun to drink?
no subject
[He's just being logical. He does that sometimes.]
Snacks and drinks, got it. Such a specific request.
no subject
[She likes the way he thinks.]
I try.
[Freya flashes him a flirty smile.]
I also trust your judgement.
no subject
[He's got this. At the last part though his expression changes, as if the notion were entirely ridiculous.]
You trust my judgment? Now there's your first mistake.
no subject
Yeah, no chocolate or you'll have a body for the morgue.
[A joke and yet 100% serious. Even a small amount of chocolate will get her sick and a normal bite was likely to kill her.]
I make a lot of mistakes but I don't think trusting your with snacks is one of them.
no subject
[He's never heard of anything like that, it was crazy.]
We'll see. Hopefully I'll grab something you like since you're leaving it up to me. Aren't you at work? You're not going to get in trouble talking to me all this time, are you?
no subject
[She rolls her shoulders in a shrug.]
I am a master of multitasking but I can go if that makes it easier for you.
no subject
[He pauses before shrugging himself.]
I'm sure I can talk a bit longer, but maybe when I get to the store I should focus on the shopping. Don't want to buy the wrong things, and I can't really surprise you with the snacks if you see what I'm buying.
