[video || un: scavenger.rey] (forward dated to 3/28)

[The comm flickers to life and starts to stream instant video. It's drizzling, but who would've left their device out in the rain? A porg steps forward, soon joined by two more. Each of them staring at the screen, chirping and trying to figure out what was going on. The first one to approach picks up the device, showcasing the forest scenery and Rey sitting cross-legged under a tree wearing a poncho. She looks like she's meditating and not paying attention.

There's another squawk with the porg carrying the device turning around to see another porg poking and then TURNING ON the lightsaber out of Rey's bag. The brunette hears the sound and instantly turns around.]

Hey! What are you doing?

[The porgs freeze for a split second, then start running. The porg playing with the lightsaber manages to turn the thing off, picks it up and now both porgs are running away.]

Come back here! [The video turns shakey with two thieving birds taking off with Rey's things, but she's hot on their trial. It looks like they're preparing to fly, beating their wings and ready to take off--but they're frozen in mid air. The video displays the porgs moving backwards, being drawn back. When they're turned around, the camera captures Rey with her hand out and drawing both birds back with the Force. She grabs the porg with her lightsaber and puts that back on her belt, sets it down and then grabs the porg that has her device.]

Don't do that again, okay? [It feels useless to talk to the birds, but better than being upset. She doesn't realize the video feed has been on this entire time.]

[ooc: based off of this adorable video. Additionally, 3/28 was the 'birthday' Rey picked out with Cisco, but she's treating it as any other day. So..have at thee!]

I'm not offended, just...annoyed they went through my belongings.

[Then again, it was her fault for leaving it unguarded.]

But no one was hurt, and that's what matters.

Birds like that really don't care what we think, and they'll do it anyway, you shouldn't beat yourself up. I mean in Seattle? There was a seagull who kept breaking into a store to steal bags of chips no matter how much they tried to stop it. It would just work around whatever they did and go in and grab a bag and fly out.

These birds are different, they actually are intelligent....they're just curious.

The type of birds you're describing sound annoying, and probably wouldn't care if one of them was eaten.

Oh yeah, they're definitely annoying. And they don't care about each other. Only what's theirs.

So these guys are from home, then?

From the world I came from, yes. But not the planet. Jakku didn't have creatures like that.

Right, it was a desert, I remember you saying.

Yes, and porgs come from a different planet, Ahch-To. More life there than Jakku.

How many planets are there where you're from?

[talentedscavenger]

Dozens. Different star systems, and some of it hasn't been explored yet.

Wow. That is so much space! It's kind of hard to even imagine it, and I have a pretty great imagination.

There are so many different planets. There's one called Hoth that's nothing but ice and snow. There's also Takodana, and it's covered in plants...there was so much green and life there.

Sounds like a rainforest. We have one of those near where I live.

It's so weird. We have all of those things on one planet, but it sounds like a lot of your planets just have one. I wonder how it works.

[Alex sounds extremely curious here, which normally means she's about to start doing research.]

Rain forest? Does it always rain as the name implies, or...not so much?

I don't know, but that's how it's always been, unless you've had someone invade and change the planet's ecosystem.

They can do that? Like terraforming?

Possibly? I know Jakku wasn't always a desert. It was taken over by the Hutts and it's resources were drained.
