[video || un: scavenger.rey] (forward dated to 3/28)

[The comm flickers to life and starts to stream instant video. It's drizzling, but who would've left their device out in the rain? A porg steps forward, soon joined by two more. Each of them staring at the screen, chirping and trying to figure out what was going on. The first one to approach picks up the device, showcasing the forest scenery and Rey sitting cross-legged under a tree wearing a poncho. She looks like she's meditating and not paying attention.

There's another squawk with the porg carrying the device turning around to see another porg poking and then TURNING ON the lightsaber out of Rey's bag. The brunette hears the sound and instantly turns around.]

Hey! What are you doing?

[The porgs freeze for a split second, then start running. The porg playing with the lightsaber manages to turn the thing off, picks it up and now both porgs are running away.]

Come back here! [The video turns shakey with two thieving birds taking off with Rey's things, but she's hot on their trial. It looks like they're preparing to fly, beating their wings and ready to take off--but they're frozen in mid air. The video displays the porgs moving backwards, being drawn back. When they're turned around, the camera captures Rey with her hand out and drawing both birds back with the Force. She grabs the porg with her lightsaber and puts that back on her belt, sets it down and then grabs the porg that has her device.]

Don't do that again, okay? [It feels useless to talk to the birds, but better than being upset. She doesn't realize the video feed has been on this entire time.]

[ooc: based off of this adorable video. Additionally, 3/28 was the 'birthday' Rey picked out with Cisco, but she's treating it as any other day. So..have at thee!]

Huh? [She looks at the com and wants to sigh.]

Yes, having one of them look down the center of a lightsaber would not be a wise idea...and they get emotional if one of them gets hurt.

They do? I guess they're all family and nesting together, that would make sense.

Yes, and...Chewie was roasting one of them over a fire pit, and one family looked on.

It wasn't the pretty thing to witness. I think the family was ready to cry.

Oh! [ She makes a face at that. Let's be real, Paige is probably was close to what Star Wars has as a vegan as possible.] That's terrible. Those poor porgs.


[ Her lips quirk impishly as soon as those last few words leave her mouth] Try saying that ten times fast: Poor Porgs.

[There's a shrug of her shoulders. Chewie was hungry, and let's be real, how or why would you say no to a wookie who could rip your arms off?] He was hungry, better to eat something than starve.

[...Paige is interesting, very interesting. She went from being sad about an eaten porg to trying to do a tongue twister. She bounces back quickly, doesn't she?]

Uh...poor porgs? Poor porgs? [She'll entertain the words twice before shaking her head a little, a slight smile on her lips.]

Do you do this often? Make tongue twisters?

[ She smiles and nods because it's sort of right. She used to do as much as she could to entertain her sister, to keep her from being too scared. And yes, she was very good at bouncing back, she had to be.]

You'd be surprised how boring parts of my job could be. It was a lot of hurry up and then a whole lot of waiting.

They're not chickens, they're porgs and they have a habit of getting into trouble. [Pause] But they have their own charms.

Ah, chickens can get into a lot of trouble too, but at least they're not bad to steal things.

I've started doing that, but it hasn't given me magical powers yet.

[ He grew up under the shadows of the Temple of the Whills, the statues of Jedi standing guard and the guardian's teachings of the Force. Before all that was destroyed, of course. ]
