[The comm flickers to life and starts to stream instant video. It's drizzling, but who would've left their device out in the rain? A porg steps forward, soon joined by two more. Each of them staring at the screen, chirping and trying to figure out what was going on. The first one to approach picks up the device, showcasing the forest scenery and Rey sitting cross-legged under a tree wearing a poncho. She looks like she's meditating and not paying attention.

There's another squawk with the porg carrying the device turning around to see another porg poking and then TURNING ON the lightsaber out of Rey's bag. The brunette hears the sound and instantly turns around.]

Hey! What are you doing?

[The porgs freeze for a split second, then start running. The porg playing with the lightsaber manages to turn the thing off, picks it up and now both porgs are running away.]

Come back here! [The video turns shakey with two thieving birds taking off with Rey's things, but she's hot on their trial. It looks like they're preparing to fly, beating their wings and ready to take off--but they're frozen in mid air. The video displays the porgs moving backwards, being drawn back. When they're turned around, the camera captures Rey with her hand out and drawing both birds back with the Force. She grabs the porg with her lightsaber and puts that back on her belt, sets it down and then grabs the porg that has her device.]

Don't do that again, okay? [It feels useless to talk to the birds, but better than being upset. She doesn't realize the video feed has been on this entire time.]

[ooc: based off of this adorable video. Additionally, 3/28 was the 'birthday' Rey picked out with Cisco, but she's treating it as any other day. So..have at thee!]

Jedha? [She's heard talk of it before, of how the Empire had a strong hold on it.] I've never been, but I've heard of it.

[So same universe then...that makes things easier. Wait a minute, he said 'was.' Was he from the past.or the future?]

Last I saw of it, the holy city had been destroyed. [ could any planet survive such destruction as the one they'd narrowly escaped? He's wondered what might have become of it, but if she doesn't know - then there's a chance it's not gone? ] I don't know about the rest of the moon.

[ What he’s describing happened decades ago. So...he was from the past. Or, maybe the present if he escaped Jedha and thought it was all gone, he wouldn’t have a reason to go back. ]

I think it’s still there—the rest of Jedha, but the people on Jakku don’t talk about it much.

[ Theres a beat of silence as Rey debates about giving her name or asking for his. ]

I’m Rey. [ Start off simple and go from there. ]

It is -? [ if his surprise is evident, well. it is, he is surprised. but glad. though it's not like he'd ever get to go back and see it. just knowing that the empire didn't kill jedha completely is enough. ]

Hey, Rey. I'm Bodhi.

Can I ask what year it was for you? Before you arrived?

It's quite possible. people talked about the holy city being destroyed, but not the rest of Jedha.

Bodhi, a pleasure. [And she wonders if she's heard that name before, but Cassian's name came to her mind. Did he know him, by chance?]

It's fine. It was 34 ABY when I came here.

[A slight pause...] And you?

34... ABY? I'm not familiar with that, but if I had to guess I'd say we're definitely a long ways apart. [ since. not familiar with that calendar. okay, so he's been told that people can come from the future, but it's still. Strange. ]

3277 LY was the year for me.

[It's all strange to her, but shouldn't she be used to strange by now?]

Sorry, that's what first popped into my mind. It's 3311 LY... [She pauses then, letting the difference in years sink in.]

This place, it has a habit of bringing people from different times to a singular point.

[ honestly he's not sure it'll never not be strange! but... in a way, meeting people from the future he never gets to see, means knowing what happens, what it's like. and people he'd never got to know otherwise, so it's not a bad thing? just weird! ]

So...34 years after me. It's fine, I just wasn't aware - what does ABY stand for?

I can't really remember, something muttered about--but that's besides the point.

Yes, I know Cassian. He and Jyn Erso - maybe you know her since she's here too, and myself - there were others, but we were a team. Before we got here.

You--you were on that team?

[Because she knows both of them, and she can't say if Cassian mentioned Bodhi, but she knows there were others. She knows of the mission Cassian and Jyn were on. This type of information--it needs to be talked about in person, not over the network where people could interject. It's more for his, Cassian's and Jyn's privacy than anything.]

I think it might be better if we continue this conversation in person, if that's okay.

Yes, I was. I was the pilot. [ the pilot, the defector. If she knew Jyn and Cassian, maybe they already told her. ]

At the guard barracks, in about an hour? We don't have to stay there to talk, it just seems like an easy meeting place.

[ Sure enough, an hour later he'll be at the building - standing around apart from most people, and clearly waiting for someone. ]

[Rey is there right on the hour, heading to the building, not caring about the weather. She'll be fine. She's dressed in layers and the rain wasn't coming down too hard.

It's easy to spot Bohdi, standing away from others. He was someone was Jyn and Cassian's time. Someone who was vital to the Rebellion. It's an honor to meet him, but it's also a very humbling experience too.]

Bodhi? [Rey softly called out when she was closer.]

[ Bodhi turns as Rey appears, offering her a tight smile and nod. He's not used to... being regarded as anything but a defector, and certainly not anyone special in anyone's eyes. And he's curious where Rey happens to stand on that matter, if she already knows a bit about Rogue One.

He raises a hand. ]

Over here. Hello, Rey.

No birds with you, then? [ They might hail from the same universe, but he's never seen a porg before. ]

[Bodhi is a special person--special in the way Finn is. They were able to turn things around, they left and fought for what was right.

She moved closer to him, waving her hand to return the greeting.]

Hello. [There's a faint smile there followed by a soft chuckle and a shake of her head.]

No, I think they found something else interesting than my things. [If he hangs around her enough, who knows, more porgs may show up.] Did you want to talk out here or..?
