[The video begins in the swampier edges of the jungle. Thanks to the flooding, the water is up to Thor's waist and he has mud up his arms and on his face. He holds the camera up at a selfie angle, smiling into it and waving with a muddy hand.]

If anybody happens to know where a big, fat crocodile went, let me know. He's got a scar over his eye and his legs are very stumpy. Embarrassingly stumpy.

[Thor looks about him, holding the camera out so the audience can really appreciate the view of the overflowing river and not the fact that he's wearing a wet singlet.]

And if you've lost anything in the floods, let me know and I'll keep my eye out for-

[He cuts himself off when he catches sight of something making ripples on the water. His arm whips out of camera, snatching the tail of a snake that he brings into view.]

Look at this! Did you know snakes could swim?



[The snake hisses, flicking its tongue at Thor even as it coils around Thor's arm in a lithe, slow crawl. When Thor's hold lessens though, the snake rears back slightly like a mirage before vanishing and revealing a grinning Loki who very casually slides a small dagger into Thor's side.]

Oh dear. Was that me?

[Thor grunts, mostly in surprise but there's pain in it. The little blades sting, and it's a miracle that he can hold onto his camera (lopsidedly) when he drops to his knees and grips his side.]

You've done it now, brother. [Thor growls, with a clenched jaw.] It's all going dark. Dark and cold. I see a light, it's calling me. I'll bleed out before they find me.

[And with his final breath, he musters the strength to try kick Loki into the mud along with him.]

[Feelings are hard. Dammit, Thor.]

You're alive, you can always... I don't know, hit him in return?

I did knock him over. [Thor says, almost proud.] Stabbing isn't my forte.

[sweetlies]

[Is that something to be proud of? He and his brother never bickered.

Or tried killing one another.]

At least he's well repaid?

[worldsaway]

It's sort of an unending dance between the two of us.

[sweetlies]

[Let him stare for a moment.

One more.

Okay.]

That doesn't get old by now?

[worldsaway]

Somehow we still manage to surprise one another.

[sweetlies]

That seems less realistic than half of what goes on in this place.

[worldsaway]

You don't know the half of it, little one.

[sweetlies]

[He tries so hard not to bristle at being called 'little.']

I can imagine quite a bit but surprising each other all your lives...

[worldsaway]

People change quite a bit over a thousand years. Sometimes they change from month to month.

Loki likes to change a little bit daily.

[sweetlies]

A thousand years..?

[He shouldn't be surprised considering his own... interactions back home.]

[worldsaway]

Yes, we're a long lived people.

[sweetlies]

I've heard of people being long-lived but over a thousand years seems extreme. Life would get boring, wouldn't it?

[worldsaway]

Not really. Life changes, new things happen every day. There's rarely a dull moment.

Except here, there's lots of dull moments here.

[sweetlies]

I can't imagine enough changing to keep life interesting but I suppose I am just human.

[worldsaway]

Well, for reference. In the past few years I tried to start a war, had my powers stripped away, went to Earth, fell in love, protected Earth, came home, protected Earth some more, met some cool, friends, went home, fought some elves, lost my mother, protected Earth again, fought some robots on Earth, had some prophetic visions, got dumped, came back home, found out I have a long lost sister, fought her, got sent to a gladiatorial combat planet, fought my way out of it, came home, killed my sister and destroyed my home planet.

And then I came here, and I mostly just drink and rescue people who get lost in the jungle.

[sweetlies]

[Just listening to that, Ciel feels like they both deserve a drink. He can't imagine any of that happening outside of some fantasy novel but, living here, he really can't argue against any of it.]

That's... quite the busy life. [He has no idea what else to say.]
