[Shuri is sitting on her assigned bed when she flicks on the device she'd been given. She doesn't mind sharing a room with other people but it's a first for her and she's adjusting to the change. It's a lot louder here than the palace of Wakanda and she currently has no lab to retreat to.]

This looks like it'll be my home for awhile so I thought it best to give a general hello. My name is Shuri.

[She really isn't interested in the festival that's going on but she has a few questions that can only be answered by those who have been here for awhile.] I have a few questions.

First I'd like to talk to those who work in technical fields. I'm the head of the R&D division in Wakanda and I'd like to do something similar here. [It's the best way for her to help out and no matter where Shuri is, she wants to help those around her.] I was told when I arrived that there are many labs here but I'd like to hear from you, which is the best.

I'm also looking for the Avengers. If any are listening, I believe you know my brother T'Challa, King of Wakanda. [She hasn't met many of the Avengers but she assumes that some of them are here since people are being swept away to a moon via a portal.]

[Rey wasn't one to 'google' that. She didn't look up information unless she had to. There was enough on her plate, so to speak.]

It varied, depending upon what I found. Sometimes it was Star Destroyers, or different ships. Sometimes TIE fighters, or X-Wings. Anything I could find that may have something that still worked, or could be repaired.

Ah, sorry, does your world have space travel?

Yes and no.

[She's built ships that are designed for space travel but it isn't something that the world has focused on. More so after a worm-hole to another area of space was opened up over New York and people learned that the universe is a place filled with warm. They have enough of that on Earth.]

Those are all names of ships then?

[So Rey is most likely skilled in areospace and other machines that focus on shielding and high pressure scenarios.] Is there a lot of that here? [That sounds counter productive given the intent of the moon's colony.]

Do you have technology for it? Or, have you not had the chance to test it?

[ Could be a variety of things. It all depends upon how far her world has progressed. Though, no one has told her Tony and Steve are part of the Avengers. She’s spoken to both before about space travel and such. The differences in their world’s technologies. ]

Those are the types of ships, not necessarily their names.

[ There’s a shake of her head. ]

No, there isn’t. If there were any of those ships here...it wouldn’t be as quiet as it has been.

I have space ships but people as a whole really aren't interested in space.

[It's not like Earth is too full or anything.]

You haven't built any ships here?

Then, have been to different planets?

No, there aren't parts for it. There's a shuttle, but that wouldn't last for long periods of travel. Doubtful it can make the jump to lightspeed.

I haven't been very far outside of my country.

[The short answer is no.]

We could probably build something here if people were so inclined to go home and not just use the portals.

That's fine, I didn't leave Jakku or Niima Outpost until ...a while ago.

[Which seems like a completely different life now. Compared to when this whole thing began.]

Possibly, it depends on what's available. There are a few things that will be impossible to find unless they appear out of thing air. Like a strong power generator.

As long as we have a power source, I see no reason we can't build a strong generator.

[It sounds easy enough to her.]

But I don't see why people just don't take the portals back home if that's what they want.

[...She might start to like this person. Strong will and determination.]

It'll have to be powerful enough to sustain the jump to light speed and every one else on board.

The portals aren't always reliable, at least from what I've been told. I don't trust them, not at all.

I don't see why we can't do it.

[Shuri is still gathering data.]

It'll take some time to see what I have here. I plan to start a few projects though.

Depends upon what we can find. There's an abandoned city I've gone to, looking for scraps of metal or anything that could be useful. I don't advise going alone. There are creatures that roam the area.

[She isn't one to sit still, is she?]

Did they already assign you a job?

I might go there. I know someone who's already working there and I have some weapons I can use if I run into trouble.

[She doesn't have a job yet but Shuri is sure that she will find something quickly enough.]

Not yet. I wanted to see what was here first.

Oh? Your brother or someone else?

[ Did she hit up the weapon’s shop already?]

If you’re interested in working on projects, I do have a friend who runs his own business, sort of. He invents things for people who help people—like fire fighters or police. Unless they go by different names in your world.

Someone else. I've been told that my brother isn't here anymore.

[There is a tightness in Shuri's voice though she moves pass it. There is no point focusing on things that she can't control.]

What friend is this?

Oh...I'm sorry.

[The apology is sincere. She knows what it's like to lose someone here.]

It's possible he may come back, stranger things have happened.

[As for her friend...]

Cisco Ramon, he's a really nice guy and a great friend. He's brilliant too.

[Shuri isn't going to focus on her brothers absence. There are things she can do here to help and being mopey isn't one of those things. Besides, her brother would never let her live it down if he learns that she missed him.]

Cisco? I'll look him up.

[It'll go on her to-do list which is slowly getting rather long.]

Yeah, I could introduce you to him, if you want.

[Assuming that's what she'd like to do. Rey knows how hard it can be coming to this place and losing someone all in one breath.]

[Or shuri can just find him. She isn't that picky about how she meets people.]

Just let me know when you'd like to meet him.

[There's a faint smile there. It's up to Shuri if she wants to meet Cisco with Rey, or by herself. Rey doesn't mind either way.

She is taken aback by the compliment, but accepts it.]

Thank you. [A beat] Are there not a lot of kind people from where you're from?

I'm sure there are but I don't get to meet all of them.

[The world is a big place with as many frustrating people as nice people.]

I'll let you know. I have some things that I need to do first.
