001 Video - un - Recording

[Shuri is sitting on her assigned bed when she flicks on the device she'd been given. She doesn't mind sharing a room with other people but it's a first for her and she's adjusting to the change. It's a lot louder here than the palace of Wakanda and she currently has no lab to retreat to.]

This looks like it'll be my home for awhile so I thought it best to give a general hello. My name is Shuri.

[She really isn't interested in the festival that's going on but she has a few questions that can only be answered by those who have been here for awhile.] I have a few questions.

First I'd like to talk to those who work in technical fields. I'm the head of the R&D division in Wakanda and I'd like to do something similar here. [It's the best way for her to help out and no matter where Shuri is, she wants to help those around her.] I was told when I arrived that there are many labs here but I'd like to hear from you, which is the best.

I'm also looking for the Avengers. If any are listening, I believe you know my brother T'Challa, King of Wakanda. [She hasn't met many of the Avengers but she assumes that some of them are here since people are being swept away to a moon via a portal.]

Shuri. My name is Hux, I'm the head of ISA; Industrial Scientific Advancement. My department is stationed at the Perimeter Guard if you'd like to come down and have a look.

Perimeter Guard. So you focus on weapons, defense and communication?

[Weapons and defense are self explanatory when it comes to any guard but, as Shuri understands it, there is a vast area around the city that is slowly being explored. There are other things they could use, technology that can map the topography as well as catalog and map what is beyond the city.

It might be an interesting place to look into.]

Weapons, mainly, with a specialised focus on improving the designs of other departments. Our resources come from within and without the city, varied and sometimes new.

[ Hux having made personal contracts with suppliers and mapped the surrounding jungle from Kirk's shuttle, taking note of any useful materials. ]

I see.

[Definitely a place she wants to check out. No one knows what world Vibrainium came from, perhaps Shuri can find something that's molecularity comparable here.]

I'd like to see if if you have the time.

Certainly, come by whenever you're free. I'm here most days, ten until six. [ He tilts his head. ] I'm curious as to what you can do, when you say you worked in a similar field.

I headed the research and development of all technology in my country. I've worked on everything from defense, communications to healing. [There isn't a type of technology that Shuri hasn't worked on during her short life.]

I'll come by now.

[She doesn't have very much to do.]

Yeah, there's a surprising number of Avengers around. Not all of them are from the same universe. It's a thing.

In terms of R&D, I do work on the Abandoned City, but there's a bunch of different labs that do various things. Pretty much you name it, you can probably find it.

[ Issuing directions to his lab in the Guard, a workshop more out of the way than most, he nods to the video a moment later. ]

I'll put on the tea.

I don't know anything about the Avengers but I did know your brother, we lived together briefly when he was here.

[Not exactly helpful, but he's curious. After all, he had no idea one of his room mates was a king. This place seemed to be full of royalty.]

Depends on what you would like to do. There are different divisions. I spend my time between the Perimeter guard and scavenging around.

I'm Rey. I've met your brother once, didn't realize he was royalty.

Plenty of R&D going on around the city, I'm sure you can take your pick.

What do you need Avengers for? General headcount? That might take a while.

So it seems. I've never heard of alternate universes but I guess it's possible. [Since it's happening.]

Do you know what the various labs do? If not, what does your lab focus on?

[Shuri nods her head before cutting the communication. She grabs what she needs and then finds her way to his lab within the guard post. It isn't difficult though walking means that it takes a bit of time for her to get there.

When she arrives she knocks on the door and then steps inside, looking for her guide.]

It's an interesting thought experiment until it smacks you in the face.

Not all of them. I know there's a group that works on the Wall and defensive measures and things like that, and some folks that work on arming the Perimeter Guard. Like I said, I'm focused on getting the Abandoned City slightly less abandoned.

Is that so? I heard that he had been here.

[She looks thoughtful for a moment before continuing.]

How well did you know him?

[Shuri likes being a brat and will tell people that her brother is a king just so he has to deal with that when he gets here. She's a little troll like that and is eager to set things up waaaaaay in advance. It's what little sisters do.]

I've worked on many types of systems. I'd like to know where I might be most useful here and to first do that, I need to know more about the work that's going on.

[It seems like there is quite a lot of research in this one city.]

He doesn't broadcast his status. [It's all part of her evil plan should he arrive back in Riverview.] What do you do in the Perimeter Guard?

That's the idea. I want to see where I am most helpful. I'm sure I have skills that others don't have.

My brother spoke of the Avengers as people who would help. We have that in common.

[And if people are being abducted then surely the Avengers are there.]

What's in the slightly less abandoned city?

It depends if the coding and mechanics are the same here as they are in your world. I find them to be similar.

I don’t blame him for it. It’s something private and on a need to know bases.

I’m part of the Ariel unit, but I was on salvage and repair before. I’m used to repairing or building things.

[She really isn't worried about technology changing. Everything works off of the same basic principles of physics which don't appear to be any different here and coding is simply learning another language, nothing hard about that once you know its basic rules.]

I don't know about that. [Since you can google 'King of Wakanda' and his picture was the first thing that showed up.] What kind of things did you repair or build? Did it vary?

[Rey wasn't one to 'google' that. She didn't look up information unless she had to. There was enough on her plate, so to speak.]

It varied, depending upon what I found. Sometimes it was Star Destroyers, or different ships. Sometimes TIE fighters, or X-Wings. Anything I could find that may have something that still worked, or could be repaired.

Ah, sorry, does your world have space travel?

Not much, at the moment. A tram system that sort of works. Few power plants I've been working on getting operational. And a lot of nasty surprises until we figure out how to fix all the walls.

It may have already been mentioned, but the Perimeter Guard could always use someone who has technical knowledge. I know of one and then the wall research and development needs people with tech skills as well.

Hello Shuri. I'm Steve Rogers. Assuming we're from the same universe, if your brother mentioned the Avengers to you, he might have mentioned me as well. Speaking of the Avengers, there's a number of us here and, as I'm sure you've heard, we're scattered across universes. There's also more then one of a few of us. Do you need our assistance with something?

[He owes T'Challa and the Wakandans a lot. Even if this Shuri is from another universe entirely, he still owes it to them to offer his help however he can.]

Looks like you're already talking to the right person to figure out where you'd be most useful.
