Why Should the Devil have all the Good Music?
(Joint post from Jace Wayland Herondale, Lightwood, Whatever and Alec Lightwood-Bane.)
[When the broadcast begins, the video pans across the interior of the LUX nightclub. The space is lit enough to show the details of the speakeasy inspired decor but dim enough to give the impression of what the club will be like when it's open.
Eventually the feed stops on a blond playing Fur Elise at a grand piano. Alec sets his phone down, bracing it so that it has a clear view and won't move. He sits down beside Jace. He waits a few beats before accompanying his parabatai. The two of them begin playing a ragtime version of the song, each player pausing at certain points and the other easily picking up the melody. When they're finished, Alec turns toward the camera.]
A few months ago, Magnus and I opened up the LUX building for renters. We've been working on opening the nightclub on the main and basement floors, and we almost have everything ready. We're planning to make the club like the apartments, welcoming to those who have felt that they're different. This will be a safe place to enjoy themselves. Mostly I was thinking that this would be a place for beings who are supernatural but it'll be open to anyone who is willing to follow the rules and not cause trouble.
LUX is going to be a music club, but right now, I have only two performers. If you're interested in playing at the club, please contact either Jace or me and we can discuss setting up an audition.
[As Alec mentions the Lux being a safe place, Jace begins playing C Jam Blues. He’s definitely showing off and enjoying the jazz piece immensely. Right up until he hears his name and then he stops and leans in closer to Alec, eyes on the phone.]
Bring your own sheet music. Diversity is important. If you don’t have any musical talent don’t call me. Unless you’re hot and looking for date. Or you have some other talent. Like bartending or waiting tables.
[Scowling at Jace, Alec elbows his parabatai in the ribs.] You’re not the only one who’ll be holding auditions. I’m the owner, remember?
[Jace smiled and rubbed at his ribs for a moment before beginning a new piece. Moonlight Sonata.] You’re the boss. I just toss drinks and rule breakers.
And play the piano. [Shaking his head, he looks more amused than annoyed by Jace’s comments.] If anyone wants to audition or interview, let us know.
(ooc: If you prefer either Jace or Alec to answer, note which one you want to answer in the subject line or in the tag.)

I can sing and at home I had a guitar.

I don't think there's a guitar in the club, but we should be able to find one for you.
Have you performed in front of an audience before?
no subject
Not like this, but my brother and our friends never tried to take it away from me.

Do you mind that our customers might not be human?
no subject
Why would I mind? Not all of my friends are human.

It's...not common at home. [A beat; the light winks out. She still considers herself human, but she's...different now.] It would be nice to meet others.
