002 Video - un; Recording [Backdated to June 2nd]

[It isn't clear where Shuri is except that she's focused on the screen and whatever it is that's behind it. When she speaks her voice is measured though a little distracted.]

I'm glad to see the illness from last month has been cured. It appears as if I had fallen into a coma for the last few days, for those who I was speaking too and working with, I'm sorry. [She's a little annoyed about that but moving forward.]

Anyway, after all this I decided what I'd like to focus my time on. I'm getting together materials so if anyone has anything I can use or a reliable vendor please let me know. I'm also doing freelance to help fund my work as well as small explorations outside of the city to find new materials.

[She pauses and before hanging up adds.]

Loki. I need to speak to you about what we had talked about earlier last month.

[Shuri finally looks at the screen and flashes a smile.]

Thanks.

[The screen darkens.]

I suppose there might be space in Stark Labs, but they're not . . . on the same level as your devices.

But there are always empty spaces available for rental.

Any place will do. [She's planning to make her own devices but having a place she can go to for parts will be helpful.] Which Stark has his own labs?

I have no idea.

[ Telling them apart is the worst. ]

[Shuri laughs.]

Are you busy now? I was thinking of checking out a few places. Want to join me?

[ Loki weighs this before nodding. ]

All right.

I thought you would need to do more tests though.

[Shuri shakes her head.]

Not yet. I'll need scans again in another week. I want to get some equipment together before we can do more.

[She also isn't trying to make him wildly uncomfortable.]

[ Loki nods, satisfied. ]

What kind of equipment do you need?

[whatarethose]

I'm looking for high end scanning devices and sensors that I can alter. I also need to focus on building a faster computer and writing some software for what I want to do. I've done it all before but starting from nothing is a pain. [Shuri is smart but it's a lot to recreate from memory and it'll take her time.]

[ Loki hums. ]

Indeed. The level of technology is mixed though. Chances are you'll find what you need.

That's what I'm hoping. [She flashes him a smile.] There is a shop near here I wanted to look at. They sell scrap parts from all over the city, I think some are from outside the wall.

[ A shop? Interesting. ]

Let us hope it has what you need.

[She nods in response Loki and then focuses on slipping her small tablet into her bag. Shuri doesn't look worried about finding anything at the store. If the place is what she thinks it is, then hopefully she can get its proprietor to be on the lookout for some stuff for her. Having more eyes and ears was a good start and for at least one of her projects, she needed very specific tools; all of which she has to now build from scratch.] If there is anywhere you want to go we can do that too. [She waves towards the door and turns, heading down to the street.]

[ Loki waves a flippant hand. ]

I can teleport myself if need be.

[Shuri looks over at Loki.]

With magic?

[That was absolutely something else she'd like to study and replicate.]

What about the journey? Isn't that the worthier part?

Magic is a tool, not a parlor trick. I use it when I need to or when it suits me best. Otherwise I do not abuse it whenever I can.

[ He can walk. Fight. Do plenty without magic. Only those who are not confident in their use of their skills use it constantly as compensation. Magic is the one area Loki feels secure in. ]

[Shuri feels her respect for Loki grow a bit as she head out towards the street. It isn't a trick and neither technology or magic should be used like careless toys.]

That's good.

[She smiles.]

Is there anything that you can't do that you've always wanted to be able to do?

[ Loki pauses. ]

Yes.

[ Be worthy of Mjolnir. Of his father. To be regarded as a peer of Asgard, an equal. A true prince. To not be found wanting. ]

But none of those are feasible.

[Shuri shakes her head.] The moment you start thinking that, is the moment when you'll never reach those goals. [She doesn't think that anything is impossible and it's why she's been able to do so much. She pauses in her steps, her dark eyes looking around the area curiously.] It should be around here. [Except she doesn't see the shop that'd been described to her.]

[ Loki snorts lightly. ]

The goals are not attainable because I lack willpower. Only that the moment has passed when I had the chance to fulfill them.

[Shuri pauses, forgetting the store for a moment.] Willpower is something you can control. Why not work on getting more?

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki sighs. ]

I just said willpower was not my issue.
