[ Floki has been here a little while now, preferring to keep himself to himself, avoiding his roommates and generally being a bit more upset and unsettled that he's here that he's letting on.

It had taken a few attempts to get used to his smartphone, having nothing like it back in his own world. So, Floki was just pretending it was some kind of magic rune, one that could show you visions and voices if you used it. ]

I want information...

[ A close up of his face showed that of a homemade wooden mask, in the likeness of the God Loki. His accent was that of Northen, Norse to be exact and the Viking had a very unique sound about him like everything was a question or a riddle. ]

I don't care very much for the people here, nor do I wish to bed alongside them. So tell me, are the woodlands outside of the settlement habitable.. I'm asking for a friend Te-hee!

[ There was no friend, Floki just didn't like being as direct as was sometimes needed. He laughed, that strange, hiccup sounding laugh of his and twitched his fingers about periodically as he awaited an answer. ]

Do you keep a dragon at your side? Inside a cabin at that?

[ Now this was something to see. Floki was familiar with dragons, just not living and in the flesh, he was more used to the kind you'd see carved into runes. ]

There is plenty of wood for supplies? I can make my own home, though I might need a guide.

[ Floki pushes his Loki mask off over his head and slips it in the back of his belt. He's being serious for the moment. ]

What can I do for you, in return for you helping me find a plot of my very own land... Much like the plot you and your Dragon have?

Where else would he live? [Hiccup laughs. Occasionally Toothless will sleep in the stables back home, but not often; usually he's right there in his rider's loft, on his flat sleeping stone.] We stayed on one of the communal floors for a little while, but it wasn't, uh, sustainable...

[He's curious about the mask, the craftsmanship has an air of cultural familiarity to the style, but it seems rude to ask.] Oh, I don't need anything in return! I'd be glad to show you around the area. There was a flood a little while back and a lot of homes close to the river were damaged, so a lot of people moved inward, toward the city center. It's quiet out here, but still inside the walls, so it's safer. You might even be able to find an abandoned structure to build off of, to make a little less work for yourself.

[ Floki scratched under his beard at the chin, with his Viking Axe. If there was something already familiar about the man from his mask, then the axe should too seem familiar. ]

I have also spent a night or two in the communal rooms... Not to my liking at all, no.

[ He blinked, tipping his head aside, surprised the young man didn't want anything in return. A genuinely nice, kind person perhaps? ]

Sounds much better already. Should I find a spot I like, I will be sure to build a statue of Odin and ask him to watch over you and your dragon. Kindness among strangers is not found so often, and you won't let me pay you back for your help.

[Yeah that's definitely a familiar style. He's made a guess, but when he says he'll build a statue of Odin, that proves his guess is right and this is another viking. Not a Berkian viking, since he doesn't seem to know much about real living dragons. Maybe a viking from Ivar's people?]

Oh, you don't have to do that either! I guess you could say me and Toothless already have a couple of gods looking out for us. [A laugh.] Loki and Thor are here, or versions of them, and they've both been really nice and supportive. Loki especially. [And boy, isn't it still odd that he can speak of gods with personal fondness after his time here?]

If we wind up neighbors, you can pay me back by coming to dinner sometime. It's still a little weird to eat alone instead of in the Great Hall back home.

[ It was true, Floki was from the same branch of Yggdrasil as Ivar. Though he did have a vast knowledge of Dragons, only none of them had been alive or around for Floki to encounter. It would be a treat to meet the young man and his dragon. ]

Loki and Thor!?

[ Floki covered his mouth in shock before muttering someone Norse under his breath, wiggling his fingers at his forehead then placing them to his mouth and kissing the back of his knuckles. Not only were there Gods here but two of his favourite! One he often told people he was related to by generations upon generations. Can you guess which one? ]

I can't believe what you just said! Ah yes, Loki is a wonderful God, caring and giving if the cause is suited. And you say he helped to look after your Dragon? Oh, what an honour that much have been for you!

[ Excuse him for a moment, Hiccup, while he freaks out a little. If fanboying had been a thing in his time, Floki was doing the equivalent of that right now. ]

I would live very much to be neighbours with you. I can build my home and hearth far enough away for privacy but enough that you could signal me with smoke or a horn. And yes, I miss the Great Hall of my best friend and King also. It would please me to join you to eat and drink...

[ Floki paused, gesturing at the screen. He didn't know of the young man had introduced himself, he was too excited and overwhelmed to recall. ]

[Generally speaking any vikings or otherwise Norse folk here are from one of three camps: the raiding type vikings from the mainland, Hiccup's people, the crazy backwater island vikings, or the Asgardians.]

Ohhh, you'll believe it when you see it. [Sheepish laughter.] He's been- Loki's been a really great friend. He's the one who helped me find my cabin. And Thor is really nice! [So much more chill than he ever thought possible.] He's crazy strong. We ran into this giant crocodile once it just- it bit onto his whole arm! And he was totally fine.

[MAKING FRIENDS, YEAH.] Your friend is the king? But yeah, that would- that'd be great. I'm Hiccup, and- [He angles the camera away, showing a large Night Fury tromping through the grass out past the patio, snapping at birds.] -that's Toothless.

[ Floki listened, watcher the boy with awe and great interest. It was so refreshing to meet another Viking, one from another settlement at that too and one with a Dragon! The fact Hiccup has the favour of the Gods, only made him more amazing in Floki's eyes. ]

No, wait, you must tell me all about Thor's might in person! I want to hear more of the fight, of his strength and the giant crocodile's battle!

[ Ragnar was almost king, a slight exageration on Floik's part there, but it was almot true! ]

I am a joker and boatbuilder, I have many friends, my skills are needed by one and all. Hiccup? Well Hiccup, I am Floki, like the God Loki, only not a God.

[ He smirked at that. Then he looked closer as the Dragon was displayed on the screen, It was beautiful. As black as the night. ]

Toothless. Why such a name?

Well, we weren't- you know, battling it! We were trying to see if we could get it to come out. I think he wanted to take it home. [Thor didn't, in the end, as far as Hiccup knows. He's not entirely sure if the crocodile ever took a shine to him.] He compared it to Loki. I guess he likes crocodiles?

[Hiccup's smile is easy, takes over his whole face when it's real.] It's really good to meet you. It's- you know, there's no one here from my home, so- It's nice to meet people who are, are kind of like my people, you know? You build boats? That's really cool! I'm a blacksmith, uh. And I make saddles, and, other things.

His teeth are retractable. Toothless, look over here, bud! [The dragon turns to face him, and smiles a wide, gummy 'smile' at the camera, then his teeth pop back out - so he can snap at another bird.]
