[ Floki has been here a little while now, preferring to keep himself to himself, avoiding his roommates and generally being a bit more upset and unsettled that he's here that he's letting on.

It had taken a few attempts to get used to his smartphone, having nothing like it back in his own world. So, Floki was just pretending it was some kind of magic rune, one that could show you visions and voices if you used it. ]

I want information...

[ A close up of his face showed that of a homemade wooden mask, in the likeness of the God Loki. His accent was that of Northen, Norse to be exact and the Viking had a very unique sound about him like everything was a question or a riddle. ]

I don't care very much for the people here, nor do I wish to bed alongside them. So tell me, are the woodlands outside of the settlement habitable.. I'm asking for a friend Te-hee!

[ There was no friend, Floki just didn't like being as direct as was sometimes needed. He laughed, that strange, hiccup sounding laugh of his and twitched his fingers about periodically as he awaited an answer. ]

There's a lot of dangerous creatures out there, from what I have heard. But if that doesn't bother you, then it might be livable.

There is always danger and there are always creatures. You could argue they would make a fine fight!

[The video feed actually shows Gyda 'looking' at the screen, her eyes no longer unfocused and cloudy, but the same blue that resembles her father. She's in the great room of the farm house, and to hear...to actually see..Floki's message pleases her to no end.]

Floki! You could stay at the farm house with me and father! The main house has several spare rooms or you could live in one of the smaller guest houses?!

[There's an underlying tone of 'please please please say yes' as she says this.

[ Floki's eyes went wide under the mask, just seeing a familiar face was wonderful!

Sliding the mask over his head and wearing it like a hat instead. ]

Gyda! Oh, sweet little Gyda, such a breath of fresh air to see your smiling face. Your father is here, Ragnar is here too? Te-hee!

[ He really doesn't want to impose on them but can't deny it would be nice to love closer to good friends. ]

[She's not sure if it's possible to smile any wider then she is now-or the last time she did in awhile.] It's a relief to be seeing anyone, let alone if they're smiling or not.

And yes, father's here, and so..[She pauses, recalling her own arrival. Do you know of father's younger son, who goes by the name of Ivar the Boneless?

[ It has been a while since he'd seen her at the Prijata festival, she seemed all heald and well now. That was wonderful! ]

[ Floki pulled a face, snarled his teeth up and smirked at her.

He had to think for a moment. The last time he had seen Ivar, was when he was just a small child, much smaller than even Gyda was now. Floki frowned for a moment then slowly nodded. ]

Tipping his head aside, Floki responded. ]

Do not be sorry, Floki is not sorry... Just not content. What makes it unhabitable exactly? Is there no life there?

That is not the issue. Life is in abundance out there and it is thirsty for blood and flesh.

[ Floki is normally good at spotting different things, perhaps after a while, he might be able to notice something strange about Vincent? ]

As am I. So should fit right in at home with such creatures hmm?

[ Though, it was serious and whereas Floki had his Axe and Adze to fight with, he didn't fancy becoming anythings snack. ]

Uh, it's- it's not exactly recommended... Well, I guess it depends where in the woods you mean? Closer to the walls is usually safer, anyway. [Says the young man with sun-dappled, perfectly pleasant-looking woodland in the background of his video from where he's sitting outside. He lives right at the edge of the city, in a lovely wooden cabin, with some sparse woodland and the river nearly his backyard.]

If you try to go too far out, there are dangerous creatures. But it's not impossible to, uh, to find a place that's safe but not too... populated.

[ Floki scratches as his beard from under the mask, using the tip of his boatbuilding Adze. Then pointing with the end of its handle to his communication device- ]

And just where exactly are you at hmm? Looks lush and green and free, doesn't it?

[ Ah right, so there's animals and beasts in the woodlands? That makes sense. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea but then again being beside all these people was driving Floki mad! Or well, what he was class as mad anyways. ]

what kind of creatures? Wolves? Bears?

The edge of the city, near the river. Civilization is about a ten minute walk the other way. [So not that far from supposed safety, but he's far enough away from any neighbors that Toothless has space to romp around.] A friend helped me find a cabin somewhere with enough space for my dragon.

[Hiccup perks up slightly at the question; studying the immensely varied fauna of this moon has been his primary focus with his Surveying job.] Oh, all kinds of things you can't imagine! I got chased last week by these six-legged goat-like things that kept screaming at me-

[ Now this was something to see. Floki was familiar with dragons, just not living and in the flesh, he was more used to the kind you'd see carved into runes. ]

There is plenty of wood for supplies? I can make my own home, though I might need a guide.

[ Floki pushes his Loki mask off over his head and slips it in the back of his belt. He's being serious for the moment. ]

What can I do for you, in return for you helping me find a plot of my very own land... Much like the plot you and your Dragon have?

Allegedly they are but mostly there are a lot of monsters out there. I wouldn't.

But yeah, I suppose you do. At least here inside the wall, there's a community if you need it.

Monsters can be tricksy... They can hide in plain sight. You should always be alert for them.

[ Maybe she was lucky then? Floki had seen monsters form in some of the nicest, closest of people before. When you wouldn't expect it at all. ]

I find a community has more use for me than I have for it. One-sided, not a very healthy relationship at all.

[Stephen liked the people he'd bunked with well enough, but at the same time living with them in such close quarters was... less than ideal for an antisocial jerk like him.]

Well, if your 'friend' is set on camping... the woods are inhabitable. Not always safe, but if you stick close-ish to the walls it's not as dangerous. The bigger predators don't like to come too close and all. Or, I could put up charms to repel them. Won't do anything for something chasing you directly, but otherwise it'll just encourage them not to come around the spelled area.

Special sort of hell? Hmm yes, yes that would be a good way to describe it.

[ Floki was getting a good feeling from this stranger already. Ah! Talking of magic and spells?! Now you're talking Floki's language! ]

Charms? Yes, I could carve some Runes and make some incense... What kind of charms can you offer? How far can your magic reach?

Well the most basic option would be a warding circle. Range can be pretty wide, but the wider it is, the more likely it is to be flawed or fail. It would really depend on how close you camp to the leylines of this place- tapping those means more effective spells.

[Stephen considered the problem, a scarred hand lifting to rub at his chin thoughtfully.]

But then you're tethered to that one place. Not ideal if the spot turns out to be miserable for some reason. Might be easier to sink the spell into an object, that way it can be moved until you find a spot that suits.

[ Floki's interest is beyond piqued. Rubbing his chin with a hand as he listened, growing tired of his Loki mask and so favours to remove it fully, letting the stranger see his face, painted eyes and all. ]

Yes, yes agreed. Following the spirit-line of the earth would work well, though... Tell me more about sinking the spell into an object? That sounds fascinating.

[ Floki was full of questions, he didn't want to overwhelm the man, but he just had to know. ]

What exactly are you, that you are able to perform such magic? a Shaman?
