[ The question is awkwardly phrased, true, but he really is pretty desperate for advice. One way and another, he's been pent up and under supervision since he was born, and now he doesn't really know how else to be. ]

[ A deity? This person was friends............ with a god? Maia can't even begin to process that, because he is immediately caught up in feeling scandalized at the comparison between himself and a god. He might be emperor, but in his culture, that carries with it no divinity - and he is devout enough to be severely flustered. ]

I suppose there is nothing to do but try. You are right, that perhaps it will be easier if I make my experiments secretly, by myself. I thank you, for the advice.
