[ He misses Stephen. One of his best friends (if he could consider himself as having them) for months, a backbone to lean on and firm supporter of the Loki Isn't A Total Shitbag club, is gone, and while the Sanctum actually is larger on the inside than the out, it feels somehow emptier. He smashed several priceless artefacts with no repercussions, no sorcerer appeared to put him in time-out or ask with strained patience what he was doing, which is how he knows Stephen really has returned through the portal. That, and Loki's private alarm went off as Stephen left the dimension; his finger pricked with blood on its own, a warning.

So he sits in Stephen's main study in a theatrically winged armchair because this house is nothing if not extra, dust motes floating through lazy afternoon golden light. He does so with arms folded, frowning, ignoring the giant green viper with its head resting over the back of the chair upon his shoulder (Freyja is sad too). He takes a breath. ]

Stephen Strange from Earth-616 has returned home, albeit leaving his actual house here. The Sanctum Sanctorum is hereby officially all mine until he returns, fight me for it, etcetera. [ The unnaturally large serpent boops his cheek with her huge nose, supporting and prompting him to continue as he scratches under her chin. ] Er, I guess Avengers are still welcome if you ever visited Stephen in the first place, whatever. Come by if you have any magical problems, I ...

[ He pauses (maybe for effect!!) and pulls the Cloak of Levitation into shot, draping it around his shoulders. What is more impressive is the cloak lets him.

(It has instructions to babysit a certain godling, not that Loki knows that.)

He sets his jaw, sitting up straight. ]

It happens in our future anyway, he said. I suppose I'm this realm's new Sorcerer Supreme, for now.

( would he? nah. but stephen leaving is hard on a lot of people he imagines, billy may as well try and. not be too noticeably depressed over it. though he is moving to slip on shoes, head out to the sanctum. . )

Challengers who already own red cloaks are disqualified by default, we can't all match on the next battlefield.

[ He brings the cloak up to cover his nose, batting his lashes over it at Billy like a coquettish southern belle. ]

( the whole red and green thing mildly works on loki, but also. red and green and gold is a bit. much. )

Strange talked to me once about becoming the Sorcerer Supreme, too.

[ Godling of looking like a glitzy Christmas decoration. So extra. ]

I always assumed you'd be the next one.

I'll take off the cloak, we can fight for it in the living room.

( or just play fight for the fun of it, whichever. )

Frisky. How about you investigate what it's like under the cloak while I'm wearing it?

We're not playing with the Cloak of Levitation.

[ Guess who just got slapped upside the head by a sentient outer garment. ]

That's why I'll fight you for it.

[ Gonna stay slouched in Stephen's chair, cosily draping his legs over the side while bundled up in his new cloak. ]

[wiccant]

I'm not going to magic fight you if you're just going to sit there.

( in stephen's chair, even. . rip loki whenever strange manages to reappear. )

This makes me an easy target, you could win literally without lifting a finger. Vanquish the burrito!

[wiccant]

That's too easy.

( but whatever!! the feed disconnects, and a few moments later billy--drops down from the space above loki in a shimmer of blue, lands on top of him with a soft oof. )

I win.

[ikols]

[ hECK!! With a winded noise he squirms and tries to free his arms, laughter smothered by startled surprise. ]

You'll give me a heartattack!

[wiccant]

( excuse him, those arms are there to cushion his butt now. billy laughs in turn, wraps arms around loki's neck while being careful to avoid the cloak. just in case it gets testy. )

You told me to go for it!

[ikols]

I didn't think you actually would!

[ He manages to get his arms free and wraps them around Billy, the Cloak following his lead. Now it's a two-person burrito.

For cuddling.

(He misses Stephen.) ]

You can be the new stand-in Saucy Supreme if you like, I ... I don't care.

[wiccant]

( cuddling is important, billy is fine with this. one hand raises to gently pet through loki's hair, the other arm wrapped around him tight. )

Even if I wanted to, I'm years behind being ready for that. And the cloak seems attached to you, so. Title's all yours.

Cool.

[ Meh. His armor and horns, donned to impress the viewers, shimmer green and change into his hoodie and jeans, much more comfortable to snuggle Billy in. He loops his arms around Billy's waist and squeezes, nosing at his collar. ]

Why do you think he left us? Stephen.

[wiccant]

I don't know.

( he seemed happy here, strange. had a boyfriend, all that nice stuff. and he even left his cloak behind, so.. )

Maybe something came up last second? Maybe he'll be back soon. ( loki misses him, he knows. billy--focuses on petting him instead of focusing on the sad stuff, fingers tangling in black strands before patting it down. )

Maybe I'll kick his ass when he gets back.

[ Until then, he drapes the cloak over Billy and admires how well it suits him. Perhaps he's used to seeing him in red but ... it really does work. ]

I bet you'd look handsome in this. Try it on?

( a little nerve wracking to be wearing such an important cloak but. whatever. arms loosen their grip from loki's shoulders as he sits himself up straight, grins as he places the cloak on as best as possible. )

Bet I can dye my hair and run around pretending to be Strange.
