[Shiro, stahp... Keith was getting confuuuuused.]

I... don't get it.

[Okay... joke did not land]

Basically trying to say the least you can do is hand me something sort of easy to manage and let me do it on my own.

[Don't feel bad, Shiro. It wasn't the first time, and likely wouldn't be the last.]

Oh. [Keith was definitely overthinking this one, and couldn't see what was funny about that, but he let it drop.]

But... I wouldn't do that...

No, I know you wouldn't. You like me too much for that.

[Youta seems to know this is a good place to provide a distraction and bounds up onto the couch with them, forcing his way between them, tongue lolling as he looked between the two humans]

[Keith chuckled a bit.]

Yeah... [He rubbed Youta's ears playfully. The distraction was good. After all, Keith had a lot of really heavy things he could say about his relationship with Shiro, especially how much the other Paladin meant to him. He credited Shiro with essentially saving him when he was a young and very troubled teenager. Even if they'd never had to deal with Voltron and the Galra, Shiro had put Keith on a very different path, and given him something he felt he could never repay.] I do.

[Youta wagged his tail, leaning against Keith. Such was the life of a dog being pet.

Shiro knew he had been a great influence over Keith's life. He would have placed money that Keith was grateful to him for it though he would probably never know the exact extent of it]

I just had the feeling that you did.

[He grins, trying to lighten the mood. After a moment, he shifts, trying to get up]

[Keith chuckled a little at that, focusing on the dog for a bit. He looked over, though, when Shiro moved to get up.]

You okay?

Yeah. Just need to get up for a second. I'm not used to being unable to do things.

[Black was immediately there, ready to offer leverage for Shiro grab onto, but he's still off balance trying to navigate this one handed]

[Cue worried look from Keith.]

Want help?

[He reached out tentatively, in case Shiro wanted to use his hand for leverage if Black wasn't in the right spot for it.]

[Shiro tries to navigate it by himself for a moment. When that clearly doesn't seem to be working and Black can't quite get to the right position to help...]

Yeah, probably do.

[He reached out to get a literal hand up. Once he was up enough, he was able to grab onto Black, the lion helping him push up the rest of the way]

Thanks.

[Keith nodded, trying his best (and failing) to not look too guilty.]

Sure thing.

[He managed a weak smile.

The moment was short-lived, however, as there was a strange but familiar flash suddenly in the backyard.]

[Shiro blinked as that happened]

What was that?

[Keith was staring at the door.]

I'm... not sure...

[He stood up and started to head that way when...

FLASH -> FLASH

Keith found himself suddenly tackled by a teleporting wolf.]

[Shiro hadn’t had as much experience with that flash of light as Keith had. So he wasn’t sure when it happened. But when there was suddenly a cosmic wolf tackling Keith, it was pretty obvious. It still did make him flinch and Black immediately put himself between Shiro and the intruder. One armed pilot was not capable of self-defense!

Youta, who had moved to Shiro’s spot on the couch now that he had vacated it, most likely went straight up in to the air when the wolf suddenly appeared before going over the back of the couch and also finding a defensive position near Shiro]

Well then...

[Despite the sudden appearance, this wasn't actually an attack. In fact, the wolf seemed very happy to see Keith, licking his face, tail wagging happily... Keith started to laugh.]

Okay, okay... get off.

[The wolf whined a little, but obeyed. Keith sat up and looked the animal over.]

Oh, man... you're really here...

[He grinned a bit, and pulled him into a hug, completely oblivious of the reactions around him.

Oddly enough, despite all of this, Red was hanging back, like this was actually okay.]

[Shiro smiled seeing the display, happy for Keith that he had his wolf friend back.

Then he realized he's being guarded by both a large robot lion and Youta... which looked kind of silly considering how small Youta was compared to Black]

Okay, guys, enough. Enough. That's Keith's friend.

[With his hand, he pushed at the side of Black's head, the lion finally relenting, but sitting down next to him. Youta looked over at Black as his lion brother backed off guarding Shiro for the moment. Youta looked from Black to the couch then to Shiro]

Sit.

[Youta did as he was told, mirroring Black on the other side of Shiro]

Great. You'd think I was wholly incapable with these two. Glad he's here though.

[Keith laughed a little.]

Yeah. They're pretty protective.

[Keith got up and put his hand out to Youta.]

You two are going to need to get to know one another.

[Behind him, Kosmo tilted his head to watch.]

[Youta looked at the offered hand, even standing to look at it closer before looking up at Shiro. Almost like "daddy, is it safe to go?" Shiro just smiled, crouching down]

It's okay, Youta.

[Finally Youta leaves Shiro's side and trots over to Keith, looking cautiously up at the wolf on the couch. HIS couch]

[Good thing for Youta that Kosmo was pretty in tune with Keith. The wolf stayed put as Youta approached, then started to wag his tail, thumping it on the couch. Keith smiled a little, waiting for Youta to get close and sniff before moving his hand gently to pet him while Kosmo was watching.]

That's it. He's not gonna hurt you, buddy.

[He smirked a little at Shiro.] I'll probably have to have this guy cool it on the teleporting for a little while as not to spook Youta too much.

[Okay, at least the wolf didn't approach him first and the tail thumping on the couch was a good sign. Youta looked up at Kosmo leaning up to sniff in his direction as Keith gave him a pet]

Probably a good idea. He's been around a lot of things, but a teleporting wolf is not one of them.

[Shiro gave Black a nudge and the lion grumbled but finally left his side, walking around the couch and over towards Red.

Youta in the meantime, put his front feet on the couch to "stand up" and get a better look at the wolf]

[Kosmo continued to wag his tail, leaning his head down to sniff at Youta in greeting.]

Yeah. Then again, a teleporting wolf isn't exactly normal. [Keith chuckled a little.]

It's good to have him, though. I was starting to miss him.

[Youta was still hesitant to jump up on the couch with him, lightly batting in Kosmo's direction, wanting up on the couch too]

No, not quite. I didn't expect it.

I'm glad that you have him now. Looks like these two are getting along. Hopefully they'll keep each other company.

Yeah. That'll be good.

[Keith was used to the idea of some sort of companion following him around town now. Between the two Lions and now the wolf, he certainly wasn't going to be lacking in that.]

Youta could use it. The Lions are good, but I think Kosmo will be better for him.

[Less metal for Youta to potentially be injured by... not that it had been an issue up to this point, but it was still something Keith worried about on occasion.]

[Yep, Keith was going to have a lot of companions. Black had been mainly sticking around Shiro at the moment, but the bond was not as strong as it once was. Shiro was having a harder time hearing him. He had a feeling its only staying as strong as it was because of his disability at the moment. He hoped that it wouldn't end so quickly once he got a replacement, but it was hard to tell.

He wasn't Black's paladin anymore]

Yeah, Kosmo would be better. Black treats him like a younger sibling and copies Black. Red likes to play with him. But they are both robots and much bigger. Kosmo's at least closer to his size and not quite as potentially damaging.

[The heck with it. Youta jumped up on the couch, moving over to lay down next to Kosmo]
