[so … rey is missing. he's tried to check on her, found some of her belongings (and took them for safekeeping in fear of the worst…), but no her. with hux lurking around, it's really hard not to fear the worst. but he's gonna keep it together and make a nice normal network post everything is a-ok here it's fuckin' fine!!]

How many of you are from a place with normalized space travel? The more people I talk to, the more I realize it's rare. I was thinking, maybe if I had enough people who were interested and had the right knowledge … who knows what could happen. We could put together a ship, go exploring. This wouldn't be an instant thing, I know it'd take a lot of time and work. But if other people are interested, we could try and make it happen.

[jk it's not fine aw here it goes]

And I was just wondering: has anyone seen Rey around? She's new, too, so I don't know how many people would actually know her … but she was living on the fourth floor in communal housing. Brown hair, carried around a staff sometimes?

Not normalized, where I'm from, but normally I would be able to travel to different dimensions with my magic. Here, it's not working. So, maybe a ship would be a good alternative if you're able to find out what galaxy you're even in.

[ Because yeeeeaaah. It's a little worrisome to dwell on. ]

When was the last time you saw her?

The humans went to the moon in my world.

They're trying, at least. I don't know much about if they did anything else.

Do your world have serious space travel, then? Like other planets and stuff?

[ When he sees this, he listens for Rey's heartbeat at once. He can't find her at all, and Clark knows what that means. ]

I'm sorry to tell you this, she's not here anymore.

Done the whole ship thing, but it wasn't really for space so much as realities ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Your best bet's gonna be scouring the abandoned city for usable shit. I'm pretty fucking good at scrapping if you need a hand.

It's a good way to keep a ship running if you're stuck in another reality.

Not sure about a propulsion system, what we used isn't something I can replicate here.

Hold that thought.

The city keeps public records of everyone that's sent back. She's on that list, right now.

I was. My dad took me to more than a dozen other worlds when I was a kid.

That's a good idea. if we're here to help this dimension as a whole, then we're here to help more than just this moon I'd think.

( She wishes she could talk about this stuff off anon, but sadly that's impossible for now. )

[personal profile] clobbers 2017-05-27 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, that's a great idea! Which means the perimeter guard could recruit and train pilots to do it. So far it seems almost like 'only the martially inclined need apply' and I've been hoping to change that.

( Because she'd never have gotten anywhere without her non-warrior friends backing her up. )

I wonder if we're in the majority or minority. Out of curiosity, have you ever heard of a planet called Earth?

( Kara may or may not be trying to gauge how far away where he'd grown up is from where she had. )

It's not the most normal thing in my world, perhaps. But one of my good friends is from the moon.

( maybe she should mention that he's also a talking gorilla? )

I would be incredibly interested in going exploring. This is a brand new world, who knows what it holds. Though, I'm afraid I can't help with your friend, though. If I see her, I'll let her know you're looking for her.

It's curious to think about what could be different or similar to our own worlds.

But in yours, space travel is normal. What is it like? What are the worlds like, and how many are there?

It is incredibly common where I'm from. But for some in my universe, normalized space travel is still unheard of, strangely enough.

I am unfortunately not an engineer nor a technician but-- putting together a ship does sound promising.
