[ Those viewing the network will be greeted with the sight of a young man with red hair and green eyes wearing a tight-lipped smile on his face. He's really trying to keep it together. He's been taken away from his family and friends again. ]

I'm starting to think I'm the punchline to the worst joke in the universe. Though I have to admit this place is a step up from where I spent my last involuntary vacation.

[ Of course his last vacation consisted of him being stuck in the Speed Force for years with only his own thoughts to keep him company. ]

Since it appears I'm not going anywhere for the foreseeable future, I figured I should introduce myself. My name is Wally. [ Have a wave, people. ] I'm from Earth. Well, an Earth. I would tell you people some more about me, but I'm a pretty boring guy these days.

[ That's not exactly true. But, the purpose behind him addressing the network is to gather any information he can rather than revealing it. ]

So, what's the deal here? I know what the welcoming committee had to say, but you know how they have a habit of making things sound more grandeur than things are. [ Rather, he isn't sure just how truthful they were being. ] There was a lot of weird stuff going on back home and I just want to make sure this isn't connected somehow.

[ He sighs, running a hand through his hair. What is his life. ]

Whatever information I could get would be appreciated. [ He flashes a much more genuine smile. ] Heck, I'd settle for just knowing where the best place to get a drink is.

They've got this liquor made from some local fruit. It's neon green, but a couple shots of that'll do the trick. [Yeah, the bars are pretty popular. Bucky likes the one in question because it's quieter and mostly frequented by Perimeter Guard, though.

He snorts.] Something like that, I guess. Save the world, avenge things.

Only a couple of shots? It better be ridiculously strong, then.

[ He isn't bragging or anything, he's just pointing out the truth. His accelerated metabolism makes it quite a bit harder for alcohol to affect him than it would almost everyone else. ]

Ah, I know people like that. [ He is people like that. ] If you don't mind me asking, are any of them here? [ Potential allies for a rainy day would be nice. ]

It's high-proof. Superhumans might need a bit more, though. [Bucky is a regular, unpowered individual and it's strong enough for him, but someone like Steve or Thor wouldn't feel anything after a handful of shots.]

A fair few, from a couple different versions of the same world. [And he is one of those Avengers, but, while he's not exactly trying to keep a secret identity, he's still adverse to stating it outright.]

I guess I'm going to find out if I'm super or not.

[ Wally can certainly understand and respect the guy using some discretion about any potential heroics. He's trying to do it too even if he's been doing a pretty terrible job so far.]

Huh. It's nice to know we have some protection if things get out of control. [ a beat before: ] Has anything like that happen yet?

[They can both be in the club. If he's going looking for Avengers at any point, he'll probably learn pretty quickly that Bucky is Captain America - he doesn't guard that identity very well.]

The Perimeter Guard does that, too. Protect the city. [And here's a quiet exhale.] There was some trouble a little while ago, I'd been here about a month. The maintenance tunnels around the fence were infested with hundreds of reptilian monsters that were damaging the infrastructure. Lot of people pitched in to clear them out, and the structural and wall defense crews got things fixed up again.

Monster attacks on the wall aren't uncommon.

[ Wally thinks he might have heard something along those lines during his 'orientation' after he arrived. He probably should have paid a little more attention during it, but his thoughts and attention have a tendency to wander when things aren't moving fast enough for him. ]

The perimeter guard must keep pretty busy, then.

[ The idea of joining the group had already been suggested to him in his interview, but he wasn't eager to join some military force before he knew exactly what he was going to be getting into. ]

From what you know, would you recommend joining it if someone could handle themselves?

There's usually something to do. [Missions beyond the wall, search and rescue, just exploring or patrolling the fences. Bucky's done a variety of things since joining up. It's kept him pleasantly busy and out of his own head. He's thankful for that, at least.]

Yeah, I would. I'm a squad captain with Search and Rescue, but there are other divisions. Plenty of work that needs to be done.

[ Something that keeps him plenty busy and not thinking about his own problems is just what Wally needs. ]

It sounds right up my alley. [ He needs to make a living somehow and being a superhero is all he has really known. ] Truth be told, I'm not the type of person that does well with a lot of free time.

We can always use more hands, for sure. [While he has a few very quiet reservations about Riverview, he does appreciate the morally simple and easy goals of the Perimeter Guard - fight off monsters, rescue people out in the wilderness, keep the city safe from the outside.] You'd be in good company. I wouldn't know what to do with myself otherwise.

Bucky Barnes. I'll keep an eye out for your name on the rosters.

It's nice to meet you, sir. [ The other man sounds like the older party here. ] I'm Wally. Wally West. But, you may already know that.

[ Between him giving his first name in the video and the "West" in his username, it would be easy to piece together. ]

Is there anything about the guard I should know about that isn't covered in the handbook?

God, quit makin' me feel old. ['Sir' is for drill sergeants and generals in his head still. But the words come out with a touch of humor, which lingers when he adds,] Yeah, I picked up on that. [It wasn't hard, considering his first name and last name are both right there.]

I'm not sure, honestly. They're pretty open about things around here, and most people in the quarantine haven't been around for more than a few years themselves. The head honcho seems like a decent lady. If you had more specific questions, I might be able to tell you.

[ A soft chuckle comes from Wally's end after the other man's humorous displeasure at being caller 'sir'. ]

I'll make sure not to make you feel old in the future, Squad Captain Barnes.

[ Is that better?? ]

They have been pretty forthcoming. [ His suspicions about this place have more to do with his experiences back home than with what he's actually encountered here because of it. ] Between you and them, I think I have all I need unless there's some sort of secret handshake I should know about.

['Squad Captain Barnes' isn't a whole lot better, but he'll let it slide, even if it's still weird to be anything but 'Bucky'.

He snorts out a laugh.] Yeah, you better get to learning the secret handshake. Two fist bumps and a high five. [He's joking. There is no secret handshake.]
