I noticed other new arrivals asking after their friends. While I could do that, my friends are generally difficult to miss. The Krogan ones especially.
The welcoming party and I had a bit of a go and that landed me nowhere. Sooo I figure maybe someone can help a poor guy out and show him where he can crash? Maybe even find something to eat that won't kill him?
That last one might be a little much to ask for.

Oh- w-well! [ he sounds a bit embarrassed, mostly because he sort of its now that garrus mentions that ] I don't have that many things...! Just books I got, mostly . I work at the library and they keep giving me the oldest editions. [ because Kaneki loves books like the proper book-worm he is. ]
But, uhm... so you travel around space? You must have seen amazing things. In my world we have only reached the moon.

[It'd be nice if Shepard was. Then he'd know if they were alive or not after that blast. Maybe it's just hopeful thinking, but if anyone could do it, then it would be Commander Shepard.]
As in physical copies of books? Like, paper and ink?
[Excuse him for a moment if that is surprising. It has been so long since any of their cultures actually used that sort of thing. Everything could just be downloaded or written on a datapad these days.]
Er... I've been all over the galaxy really. Most of that wasn't exactly a pleasure cruise.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's a bit humbling, though, to know there is so much out there.
voice
It's not as normal where I am from. Not anymore anyway. For collectors or lovers of vintage things, maybe.
[Space? Humbling? Yeah, Garrus can probably agree to that. Just when you think you're getting used to being dropped onto planets and nothing can surprise you... It does. So many unexpected things can happen.]
It is, but at the same time? Can't complain about some of the views.
voice
That's a bit sad to hear. I prefer to have the physical copy myself... [ he really is nerdy mcnerd ] But I can imagine electronic books are much easier to get and keep. [ he says that because he's already running out of space to keep his ]
And-uhm! I can imagine it must look amazing. You are really lucky.

[Poor trees or animals or whatever is used to write on. Can't be the same across all cultures, after all.]
Still, I've heard that the "musty old book smell" is a favorite.
[Again, not that he'd know.]
Who knows. Maybe one day you'll experience it yourself.
voice
My world's technology is too far behind for me to do that. Unless I do it here, I guess? I'm not sure if such a thing is possible.
voice
You never know.
