[The offer is odd for him. He's no storyteller, wouldn't say the right things or bring excitement to the right places, and he doesn't hear a lot of weird stories from other people, either. When he does, they're true and he gets caught up in their weirdness, and it's usually ridiculous and often lands him in bed with a fever.

Ghost stories aren't so cool when you're trying not to make eye contact with the ghosts.

Anything you eat is grown, whether you grow it yourself or get it from the market. I'd rather provide the basics for myself and trade what I cannot make for myself. Er, buy, I suppose.

[ Even after two months, currency and the exchanging thereof for services and goods is an odd thing to her. Makes her wonder how many people come from realities where that system is standard over something simple like trade, how many people aren't used to providing for themselves. ]

We rely on a lot of things without realizing it, I think.

I think so, too.

[ In her case, she thinks it's more with regards to things she doesn't wholly understand, like the generators that allow the city's technology to work properly. Then again, in a place so big, it's not as though one sees what everyone is up to all the time. ]

And I think that realization is part of the adventure. There's always something new to discover.
