[Eichi decides to make his first post in riverview a video message. He looks pale and a little nervous about something, but he speaks confidently. Some people might recognize him— his face has been appearing more and more in posters and advertisements in the city for performances.]
At first I thought I was hallucinating or something along those lines, because "magic" is something that doesn't exist in my universe except as science made to look like tricks. However... it seems I've gained some sort of ability.
It may be strange to ask, but has this happened to anyone else? I'm nothing like a "hero" out of a story book or anything like that, but I certainly healed a wound. [He glances down, flipping over his own arm and frowning in his focus.] Just now, I also cut the back of my arm to test it, since it was making me doubt myself, and I was able to heal that, as well.
[He's really not the type of person who should be harming himself in any way. But despite his paleness, he's conscious! Just... definitely exhausted in appearance.]
To be honest, I feel a little faint, now, but it may be due to my elevated heart rate after all of this. I'll look forward to any answers or advice I can receive.

Maybe you should lay down. You look pretty tired.
no subject
[It's concerning? Especially after all of those shenanigans where he thought he was still a second year in high school. He's looking even worse by the second, honestly. It's amazing how fast he can lose color.]
no subject
[Or many seconds. Maybe he'll just fall asleep. Just do it please. His face is starting to worry her.]
no subject
[He's exhausting himself just thinking about all of this, and then he cut open his arm. But, it's actually the healing that wiped him out more.]
no subject
Be careful and don't push yourself too hard. You have plenty to time to figure things out.
[So don't try to do everything in one day okay??.]
Is there anyway I can help?
no subject
[Or he's just saying that to get some company... Either way, he chuckles lightly, and it is a nice little invite.] Noct-kun is out right now, so it should be fine if I invite a visitor, right?
no subject
[Eichi might notice the camera is starting to get shaky because the moment he extends the offer, she begins to get her boots on to head out. If that's what he needs, that's what she'll do. Plus she can keep a closer eye on him.]
Keep the door unlocked, I'll be there in a second!
no subject
[And so he does. The door is open for whenever she wants to enter, and Noct still has the workings of some mess on his side, but it's considerably less since Ignis must have been over recently enough. Eichi is sitting at the table with his phone, the knife he'd used is already off to the side in the sink, rinsed off. Eichi still looks tired, but he's not looking any worse.]
action
You still holding up okay? You might be more comfortable on the couch.
[You know, laying down. Resting. Sleeping. But she's not going to push that part.]
no subject
[His lowkey flirting is so casual and pleasant. He chuckles, not wanting to worry her further, and pushes himself to stand up. It's from that motion that it's clear that his hands are a little shaky, but his steps seem fine enough.]
I wish I could be a proper host and serve you some tea, but I'm worried I'd make a mess of it with how I am right now.
no subject
You just worry about sitting down. We can have tea next time.
[She would offer, but her tea making skills are limited and she doesn't want to ruin his leaves.]
Now, I'm about to show you my healing power. Where do you keep your blankets?
no subject
[He makes it all the way to the couch, but when he sits down, it is with clear exhaustion. This body of his really is irritating... but it's more than that, isn't it? He's realizing slowly that it's connected to the healing.]
There are a couple folded at the foot of my bed, since I end up using them quite frequently. [Even with sheets and comforters, he needs more warmth. He points helpfully in the right direction, though it should be clear from how he keeps his space versus how Noct keeps his which bedroom is his.]
no subject
[She's teasing of course, even if the concern is very real. He might need supervision for the rest of the afternoon. She glances at him one more time to ensure he's situated on the couch before heading back. Although she takes a small detour by looking into Noctis' room from the doorway, just in case he had been sleeping through this instead of actually gone. There's no sign of him though. Oh well.
She grabs two blankets from Eichi's bed and heads back, standing in front of him as she unfolds the first one.]
Okay, first thing's first! Please lean forward, your highness.
no subject
[His own teasing right back, but he does lean forward obediently, allowing her to spoil him like she is. He's rather quiet, both because he's tired and because he almost got her brother killed earlier. There's no way to say anything about that, and he and Gladio had agreed to not share certain other parts, so why mention any of it at all?
Thank god he'd avoided death, but... He still feels so bad.]
no subject
[So here she'll stay. At the very least until she's relieved of duty or he looks well enough to be on his own. She puts the first blanket on him from behind, so it looks like a cape and drapes over his shoulders.]
Alright, good. Now lean back.
[She's unfolding the second blanket, preparing to trap him in this cozy blanket burrito until he feels better.]
no subject
That's right, isn't it? Someone in a position of power should be most concerned with making things right for their people. As much as I try for something like that, I wonder if I can ever really manage that sort of thing...
no subject
[It's a turn she didn't expect in this playful conversation about princes and princesses, but her answer comes with no hesitation. He's a good person and can succeed in whatever he tries to do. She lays the blanket on him, covering his body, and leans forward to tuck in the sides. It makes it difficult to move, but at least he'll be warm.]
But don't think too hard about it. Sometimes you just have to act. Bet you'd surprise yourself.
no subject
If you think so, then there must be some truth to it. Now look at this, I'm completely wrapped up. It's like Iris-chan has me in her hold, fufu. Are you going to sit with me?
no subject
[Her work is completed and she pops onto the cushion next to him, stretching her arms outwards. It's tiring work to burrito someone!!]
You need anything, just ask. I'm right here okay? Don't try to get up for awhile.
[Food, water, hot towel, the works. She's got his back.]
no subject
[He's quiet for a while, just resting here, but he never actually falls asleep, despite what she might want. His mind is too busy for that right now.]
It's fitting that I'd gain an ability like this but end up easily exhausted from it. I wonder what use this is supposed to be, or where it came from? What do you think?
no subject
[She leans back against the cushions and rests her hands in her lap. The only person she can recall with a healing power, outside of Noctis' own special ability, is the late oracle who healed starscourge victims. From the little bits and pieces she knows about Tenebrae royalty, it's a family trait. Maybe it's similar with him. It might have always been latent in Eichi, only surfacing now for some reason.
It's still an issue if he becomes this exhausted after every use. She hasn't heard about powers being gained here until now, so it's difficult to say what the long-term effects are going to be.]
Maybe going through the portal changed something in you? Which kinda makes you sound like a superhero.
no subject
[He tries to protect Iris from certain things about himself, and then lines like this come out so easily. He hates heroes, so he can't help it. They make him sick.]
But in that way, maybe it is fitting for me to have.
no subject
[They might only be history books in his world and in Riverview, but they're currently being written in her time. Bloodshed spread by a power hungry country that didn't care how many lives were lost for the sake of expansion. She's lost friends and family to those people and when she looks at Eichi, she can't imagine him among their ranks.
Sometimes when he talks like this, she feels like she's missing out on something important. All she can do is say what she thinks though. Maybe one day the truth will come out.]
But you're not a typical hero, that's for sure.
[Which isn't her agreeing with his assessment at all and she laughs as she turns to face him.]
You're the kind of superhero that can make people smile by talking and who rescues girls stuck in trees. Not as glamorous as the kind that fly, but you're the kind I'd want around.
no subject
Well, I can't deny that I long to hear words like that. I still don't know that it's true, but your words are as sweet as ever.
no subject
[And now it looks like he's finally shutting his eyes, which is all she wanted him to do from the beginning. It feels like a victory for her. She talks softer now, even though he's not asleep. Yet. ]
A prince has to be the hero, you know, but sometimes they need help. When you do, just give me a call.
