So, just out of curiosity... has anyone looked into taking classes around here? And if you have, what's it been like?
I mean, back home, my parents were insisting I go to college, so... even if I'm not sure I want to bother, I figure I should keep the option open here too.
[He hesitates a moment before adding:]
How do you even figure out if going is right for you? Especially if you have other stuff you really need to focus on too...

You can make money off practically anything, if you know how to apply it properly.
But university's not just about that. You've got several worlds' worth of new magics, maths, technology, sciences, languages, easily accessible here. One should never simply be content with what they already know.

Okay, point. But I mean, it seems a little unethical, I guess... charging people for help instead of just doing it.
Which means I guess my life can't really revolve around magic entirely.
And also-- another good point, you're right. I mean, I've seen other worlds and dimensions before, but I've never really gotten to stay long term... not like this anyway. It was more of an in-passing thing. Seeing what they've got to teach that isn't like back home is kind of an exciting thought.
Have you checked it out or something? The universities here, I mean.
[Even if, you know, it's more school and he just kind of got out of it...]

Well if the thought's kind of exciting, I think you owe it to yourself to give it a go.
In my objective opinion, as a professor at the university.
[ so yeah, he might also be a li'l bit biased. ]
If you've any interest in time travel, you can sit in on one of my classes.

Oh, wow. I didn't know I was talking to an actual professor. You teach time travel?
Have you time traveled before? I mean, I'm not doubting you. I knew someone who sort of came from the future... I'm just curious.
But I'd totally love to check out your class.

Oh, I've got some first-hand experience. You could say it's a speciality of mine.
[ 'massive understatement' doesn't come through as clearly in text, but. ]
Wednesday @ 2:30 PM, do not be late.

[And you know, that 'The Doctor' thing kind of piques his interest... not that he's going to go say that one outloud]
Oh-- what's your name?
no subject
[ ...yep. ]
no subject
[Okay, well. This is cool.]

]
Possibly that's not a good rule of thumb.
Unless your name is really Actual Wizard 666.

[Actually, it's because he's a giant nerd who's obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Gandalf, but he doesn't have to say that much...]
no subject
...The 666th actual wizard, or a big fan of the beast?
Or is it ironic, everything's ironic now.
[ not actually serious about the wand, either. ]

Um, is 'dumb teenage edginess' an option? Because it stuck from back home.
