[ when the feed clicks on, it looks as if Tony hasn't seen his actual skin in about thirty six hours (or a bed for that long, at that, but what else is new?). there is grease smeared more of less everywhere and his hair looks like it was styled using a fork and an electrical sock, but he is grinning and looks very pleased with life as he addresses the network.]

So, since the incident that happened a few months ago involving monsters and other bullshit, I have been trying to put together a defense system for the Quarantine that would act as a primary system to both alerting us about any predators that might get too close, as well as perhaps even as a system that can be used to stun said things for easier removal deeper into the forest. [ look, Loki, he is thinking this time.]

I have come up with a prototype, [ he moves slightly to gesture over his shoulder and, if you are looking close enough you might see a turret shape amidst all the chaos in his workshop, wearing a ridiculous red, blue, and white crown but whatever ] named it Cake so far, but-- well I know that I am not the only engineer here and I think that help would be greatly appreciated.

[ sure he is sure enough that he knows this will work, but it has taken him the better part of two months to get Cake here to the point where he was confident in its build and coding. and the Quarantine will need more than one for this to work.]

Basically, what I am asking for is anyone with any background in coding, or mechanical engineering to help out in the construction and streamlining of these defensive turrets; I have coding done, but more eyes the better. I have also managed to test it out a few time with the help of some friends, but-- I know you can never be too careful.

Then it is a lie, but that was kind of the point in naming it honestly.

Oh! I spoke to a mechanical engineer here. Didn't get his name, though. Something-delamancha?

About that, yeah. Big enough to be upgraded if we need to, but small enough that we can make more than a few without running out of materials. You gonna come help me?

I can do a bit of coding if need be.

Why is everyone so picky about it's name? Yes, Cake. And all other that come after shall henceforth be cupcake. Just for spite.

And that would be great, think you can tolerate the mess that is my office to come help? Or should I bring the coding to you? :P

[ Tony laughs at that, looks amused as he watches Loki. he notes the difference, eyes following the whorls of dark hair before he laughs.]

Of course I did. Still no idea what they do, though.

[ but he listens anyway, nods and moves while they are still talking to pick up a tablet and send him the code. it is heavily encrypted, but... well he is paranoid.]

Mmm, maybe. We can make them amazing sunglasses then. Though they already do track, and I have rudimentary coding in place to distinguish between hostile movement and curious movement, but it still needs some work.

[ Oh, good, she's so pleased her lightning golems are a steadfast mystery!! That gives her reason to preen. There is also, unrelatedly as Tony takes note, a couple of differences about Loki today. ]

You're going to be wildly grateful when you find out, trust me. It'll be a show!

[ That's okay. If Cain has a specialty in coding, it's cracking codes and hacking into systems for his own self-preservation. He probably could have just gone in and taken what Tony's already got, but since he's offering...

He's tapping away at his nearby laptop as he studies it. There's a couple of things he's been working on aside from actual app development and decryption software is part of that. Hmm... definitely distracted now. ]

Benign or actually curious? Are you making mood ring turrets here?

Ah, see that'll do it. I haven't played many games besides Mario Kart on Wii.

Well I'm more so wondering if you're trying to reference its building as a piece of cake or something to that effect. I could see you doing that.

I don't know if I can tolerate that office, but worth a try. Provided that vacuum doesn't take a liking to my feet again.

You know, that would make sense but it isn't it. It is actually a video game reference from my universe. But also a piece of cake.

[ oh trust me, he is noticing them. not going to say anything on that just yet, but he notices.]

... is it going to turn people into actual cake? Because while that could be amazing, it might lessen the chance of survival for the monsters that are just merely curious. Wait, would they then taste like themselves? Ugh, never mind.
