[Steve is commandeering the floor's kitchen for the moment. With the festival going on, he gets more time to himself, but there's still the situation to consider. They are all new people getting used to Quarantine. So Steve sets up with his device, sending out a message while he takes a break from the activity.]

Floor five, clean up your messes. Loki, that means you.

[Because that's easier to start with than anything else he can think of.]

If we haven't met yet, my name is Steve Rogers. I'm working with the Perimeter Guard here in Search and Rescue. If you have any problems, you can contact me directly. It doesn't have to be an emergency situation. We're all adjusting here, so if you need anything, feel free to come up or give me a call.

I typically go for a run in the morning and train in the evening. Just in case anyone's interested in joining me. Thinking about taking a better look at what's surrounding us, too.

Hm? [What a question. Steve thinks it might be some sort of joke, but he doesn't understand it.]

You mean do I tell people if I'm passing? Well, it's polite.

Yeah, well, if you're the one being passed, it gets old real quick.

Just sayin'.

[It doesn't sound remotely malicious, just a little snarky. In short, definitely a joke that Steve doesn't understand, but Sam still couldn't pass up the opportunity.]

But I'll go running.

[Steve's expression doesn't change much, but he does seem to recognize what Sam is really saying, because his eyebrow twitches slightly.]

Well, I'd suggest that you try not to be passed.

[It's a very mild, innocent answer.]

Great. How early are you up?

All this bitching about floor five and your dish issues. Why don't you just kick him out if he's such a terrible roommate?

[ Yuri pauses, frowning a little and leaning back, drumming his knuckles briefly against his own knee, before dropping back to sprawl over his bed. He stays in focus though, blond hair splayed across his pillow as he glares at Steve like he's somehow offended him. ]

What kind of training? What if someone wants to learn?

If we try to kick him out, he won't have anywhere to go. And he won't bother to do better.

[And Steve would rather struggle with Loki than just shut him out and write him off.]

Defense training. If someone wants to learn, I don't mind having a training partner. It won't be easy.

[Just so the feisty blond knows.]

I don't know, spending a night on the streets might teach him that having to wash his own damn dishes isn't so bad after all.

[ Yuri huffs out a breath, shifting to sit up again, dragging his fingers through his hair. Behind him, a rather familiar looking oversized tiger can be seen listing against the headboard of his bed. ]

I'm not afraid. I know a thing or two about hard work.

[ He was almost tempted to show the other his feet; the bandages, the blisters and calluses, the still open sores that speak of hard work and determination and being completely unafraid of pushing himself in his sport, not stopping because of a little pain. He doesn't, though. Without context, they're probably just really ugly feet. ]

[Steve makes a quiet noise that might just be a laugh at Loki's expense. It's too subtle to tell for sure, though. He could have just snorted.]

We'll keep him for now. Don't want him to find other trouble by being out on his own. He might take it as an invitation to move to other floors.

[And he does smile, just a little, at Yuri's flat answer. He's feisty and fearless just like another young man he used to know.]

Glad to hear it. How about we start off with something simple and see how you feel from there?

Loki? [his brain just made the sound of a record player's needle scratching across some of his favorite vinyl. it's not pleasant.] He's really here?

He's here. Staying on our floor. [Steve isn't exactly pleased either, although the Trickster is less of a concern when compared to other threats.]

We're keeping an eye on him.

[he should've expected that. maybe not loki specifically, but along with the decent folk that he's met, naturally the portal could bring some troublemakers through it too.]

[Loki is a fact of life. He isn't thrilled that they brought him along, but Steve has already accepted that the god is with them and that they are responsible for him. And there are enough Avengers around that he is confident that they can in fact deal with him. His expression conveys that.]

[There is a little bit of amusement in his eyes as he says that.]

[What, doesn't everyone have a doppelganger? Steve probably should look more surprised. He isn't exactly used to it yet, but he's already pushed past the shock and decided he's going to deal with it. That's the more efficient response.]

It'll be dangerous. [He has to offer the warning.] But I'd be glad to have the assistance.

I kinda figured on the dangerous front! [That's the whole point.] But you've got that whole fighter thing going on, right?

[Based on what he can see of those shoulders, and the way other-Steve was built like a brick shithouse.]

[ He cleaned up the bedroom. He cleaned it well, see? The floor is spotless!

Because all the Avengers' stuff on Floor Five is now perfectly in place upside-down on the ceiling because fuck you guys. Ordering him around is not the way to go. Loki himself, if Steve searches, is nowhere to be found. ]

[And of course when he comes back to the kitchen after another trip out, the kitchen is clean. Too clean, because everything is trying to imitate a scene right out of a bad haunted house. Steve stands in the entrance of the room, arms folded across his chest and a flat expression on his face.]

Loki.

[He doesn't yell, but the name is spoken loudly enough that he knows the god can hear him.]

he's hoping for the best here. Billy should know better than to try to be too optimistic though. Besides, at the moment, something else catches his attention.]

How early do you get up?

Pretty early.

[The answer is honest, but still friendly. Steve is an early riser. He does, however, realize that there are limits to the hours that everyone else can tolerate a morning jog. Especially a teenager.]

Still, if you're interested in coming, I could make it seven-thirty.

[Fatima smiles as the feed comes on. This is a girl who takes pains when it comes to her appearance. She has a carefully-styled look of nonchalance. And too much makeup, as if she were trying to disguise her youth. But she's sitting with a stuffed unicorn, which looks out-of-place with the rest of her world-weary demeanor.]

I love running. And I'd like to check out some of the local flora outside. You can count me in.

[She glances down at the unicorn.]

Him too. I think he misses you.

[Steve looks a little surprised when the woman that responds says she wants to explore beyond the fence. She seems more put together, not the type that he expects to run into danger without question. But he knows enough magic users and mutants to know that appearances can be misleading. He doesn't question that right away.]

He does? [The stuffed unicorn and apparent familiarity throw him off more than her casual approach to danger.]

I don't think we've met.

[She blinks in few times. Fatima isn't used to being forgotten. She does everything she can to make a splash, after all. This makeup and these accessories don't just...happen.]
